Love the DEFAC here. The food is definitely 5 star Portions are sometimes small and not average like other times but it will do. I would give 5 stars but I’m only giving 4 because y’all are always LOW ON KETCHUP!!

Usually very busy since the two or so months I have been coming here. Food is pretty good, but is switched out quite often because there is never enough of the good stuff. The line stays out the door on some days, I hope they can pick up there pace because more soldiers are arriving to the area soon (coming back from mission). Also they are really bad about skimping on portions for meat.

Good selection of food, drinks, desserts and snacks. All kinds of healthy options plus burgers cooked on the spot. Big salad bar and most of the food is self serve.

This is by far the worst place I’ve ever been to in my life, let alone the worst place I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Don’t take their job seriously and the food isn’t even edible to feed a dog.

I know they recently moved to another place but am still gonna write my review. No hand washing sinks! you have to go to the bathroom to wash your hands and most people don’t do it and they have to serve themselves stuff like fruits, salads etc. Disgusting!. Not really a big deal since they just moved and they are working on the place. My problem is, for the past two days (14th Aprl 2025 and 15th Aprl 2025) they haven’t washed their fruits and if they did then they need to do better. I brought up a complaint to one of the servers there and she said they will work on it but they didn’t. Fruits had dirt on them and there was no signs of water on that basin! Also no equal opportunity at all! I believe we all pay the same amount of money to eat! I have observed this for a while now. A male will be in front of me and will get a bunch of potatoes on his plate but I will get 5pieces of potatoes on my plate. That is just one example. I believe all this can be fixed. Thank you!

Edit:

Before, this dining facility was pretty bad to eat at, as the rice wasn’t even done properly. Honestly, the food situation is sorted. To add to this, the seasonings have gone up and the food is no longer burnt/raw.

Edit 2:

A calendar was added to the front door, allowing soldiers to prepare for days the facility might be closed. I’m glad we now have prior warnings and can plan ahead for closures.

Summary:

My original review was a two star with a very negative explanation. This facility has improved by leaps and bounds and is on the same level as courage inn now. I have nothing but positive points to bring up now with cleanliness, service, and quality of food. It’s healthy and tasty, and I urge others to give this place another try!

Served moldy eggs to soldiers, with no regard to their safety.

Never open on weekends or evenings anymore. Where are the North Fort soldiers supposed to eat? They have to drive all the way down to the only DFAC open for dinner and weekdays (Ghost). If they don’t have a car I guess they can eat sleep for dinner. $400 taken out of our pay and we can’t even eat. I’ll remember this when it comes time to ask me about re-enlistment.

It takes around 30 to 45 minutes just to get through the door, and that is just to get the most tasteless, cold, tough food that i have ever eaten. For being the only dining facility on north fort, these are the slowest and most unprofessional soldiers i have ever witnessed. Here food is fuel not flavor, soda fountains are never filled, you either get a little soda with spicy water or you get the flattest soda in existence. You should get paid to eat here, soldiers funds should not be wasted on such a failure of an establishment. To put it politely, for a better meal try the bushes they have outside of the facility, more flavor and not as tough to eat, or go to the gas station that is close by. Avoid this place if you do not want to be disappointed and dissatisfied.
