Had a lovely Friday afternoon stop here to get some work done and enjoy a latte. I tried the house latte (forget the name). The barista noticed that I wasn’t sweet crazy and made it less sweet which was good. I still thought it was sweet enough so I am glad I didn’t get the original. Great atmosphere to sit and get some work done. Plenty of outlets and a nice open airy room. You can also sit out back as an option. Great place to chill for an hour.

Lamppost Coffee is a nice little coffee shop on the square.
Really good drip coffee! I ordered a huge chocolate chip cookie, that they warmed up for me. What a yummy treat!
They have a good food menu, bakery items, and merch for sale as well. Plenty of sitting inside, cool art displayed on the walls and a couple quint cafe tables outside.
I visited here in December and the string lights everywhere were very beautiful and inviting.

Update: they now have their own roasts for the pour overs with a nice selection pour over menu. It serves 2 cups. It takes a little time but it’s worth it. They warm up the cups.
On Saturday’s the square is blocked off for a farmers market. The boutique pictured is so nice with the owner Lucy featuring nice linen assortments.
Previous: Seasonal menu looks amazing. The Ethiopian blend in the pour over is delicious! Great service! Food & Drink: The pour over and chemex are so good. Haven’t tried the food yet.
Ambiance: Lots of seating. Indoor and outdoor. It’s picturesque in several places. The art is nice.
Kid friendly: yes, people bring their kids and they do fine. There’s a couch and coffee table by it.
Service: I don’t know his name but there’s a barista that’s really knowledgeable about coffee and he makes the coffee taste better just by describing it. He knows the region, flavor notes, etc and helped me out by steering me toward mugs as opposed to the disposable cups. It changed the flavor of the coffee, especially as it cooled down.

Justin and Jazz were very helpful! I got the Orange Delight Latte and it was SOOOO good. Very flavorful and the coffee tasted amazing. Glad we could stop by as we passed through!

I always come in with my dog and sister here! It’s always busy and I love all of their seasonal drinks and treats. The cashiers are always nice, they switch out their art semi often, the plants are cute. I like how you can buy the coffee beans so you can make it at home as well. I recommend their house special lamba latte I get it half sweet since for me it’s a tad too sweet.

Lamppost Coffee has a great atmosphere and a beautiful espresso machine behind the counter, so I had high expectations. However, both times I ordered a latte, it was made using a push-button automated espresso machine. When I asked about it, I was told it was simply “more convenient.”
For a $6+ latte, I expect a real, intentionally pulled espresso shot, not automation for the sake of speed. The drink wasn’t bad, but it lacked the depth and texture that true espresso offers.
The equipment says artisan, but the execution says drive-thru chain.
I’d love to see the craft match the environment and price point.

The drip coffee I had was decent. I was taken aback that a large vanilla cold brew cost $7 though. Especially when their large size is more of a medium anywhere else.
The barista was very friendly and there was plenty of seating available.
Decent place if you’re looking to grab a coffee near the square, just expect tourist prices.

Lamppost Coffee on South Main is one of those places that quietly becomes your go to before you realize it has you fully caffeinated and emotionally invested. The coffee is consistently excellent, thoughtfully roasted, well balanced, and strong enough to convince you you’re capable of handling whatever the day throws at you, but the real draw is the atmosphere. It’s warm, welcoming, and just the right mix of cozy and productive, whether you’re catching up with a friend, knocking out emails, or pretending you’re writing a novel while actually people watching. The staff is friendly without being overbearing, the space feels intentional rather than trendy for trend’s sake, and the whole place has a stay awhile energy that makes time disappear faster than your latte. If you’re in Georgetown and need great coffee, a relaxed vibe, and a place that feels like a local staple rather than a pit stop, Lamppost Coffee delivers, fair warning though, you’ll probably say just one cup and then order another.

Lamppost Coffee is such a cozy spot — perfect for relaxing, catching up with someone, or just people-watching downtown. We shared one of the best banana nut muffins I’ve ever had, and paired it with a delicious chai latte — fantastic combo!
The only small downside is that during busy times, they could really use a third person at the counter to help speed things along. But once you’re settled in, it’s worth the wait.
Great coffee, great food, and a great vibe. Definitely a favorite spot in town!
