Whoever made these dishes knew what they were doing. Each dish was well flavoured with layers upon layers of flavours dancing elegantly from savoury to sweetness and then back to savoury.
I’ve never tried dishes so well compiled and composed.

Delicious vegetable and tofu fried rice through Uber Eats. Had a late night hunger and was looking for something vegetarian friendly and this was absolutely perfectly. Flavorful and delicious and pretty good portion size too.

Just had an amazing dinner at Royal Thai in Hobart! The pineapple fried rice came in a real pineapple — so fun and full of flavor. The beef salad was light, spicy, and super refreshing. And we couldn’t resist the coconut ice cream — smooth and not too sweet. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were so kind and attentive. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

We loved our food at Lamoon Royal Thai, we also found the staff extremely friendly, and they accommodated us bringing in a cake for our mum’s birthday.
We did notice though, after our prompt initial orders were taken, we were forgotten. Our mains came out at different times, and a couple who were seated and ordered much later than us were served their main meals while we were still waiting for 4 out of our 6 main meals. After waiting some time for our plates to be cleared and have the cake brought out, we had to get up and find staff to do this. The restaurant was not super busy and we were 1 of 3 groups left dining.
We would eat here again because the food is great, but hope that this review is taken on board and staff are a little more observant to all their customers for a smooth dining experience.

Their menu offers both authentic Thai cuisine and creative dishes. We had both and they were all very delicious! We had a wonderful dinner here while visiting Hobart. It was so lovely and comforting after a long day travelling in the cold weather ☺️

We haven”t been here for a few years but were pleased to see the new owners have kept it as a great place to eat. There were 5 in our party and all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff were great and the prices were very good with an excellent menu to select from.

Royal Thai in Hobart is a great option for vegan food. They have some of the best vegan meat alternatives I’ve tried. The vegan calamari was especially good — crispy and well-seasoned without being over the top.
The stir-fry tofu was really nice too: well cooked, full of flavour, and very satisfying. The stir-fry dishes in general are done very well.
I also enjoyed the lychee soda, which was light and refreshing.
For dessert, the daily special mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream was lovely — not too sweet and a perfect way to finish the meal.
Overall, Royal Thai Hobart is a solid choice if you’re looking for good Thai food in the city.
