When I walked in, I wasn’t actually sure who worked there as there were 3 people yelling and laughing, only one who was initially behind the counter. Then as I went to pay I realized the other two were also “working” so I’m not sure how much attention there is to the business.
I ordered a sausage slice and a Sicilian cheese square.
The sausage slice had a good amount of sausage with good flavor. The part of the dough with the toppings had a good chew but the outer crust was extremely dry overcooked.
As for the square slice, the sauce was a little sweet but good, but the amount of cheese was embarrassing. The dough in the middle again had a good fluffy chew but it was still dry and especially the outer crust. I feel like they overcook their pizzas, which sit out for who knows how long, drying out, then get dried out even more when reheated to order.
I’ve had much worse and I’ve had much better and this won’t be a place I return to
Lamonica’s nails the New York vibe, from the decor to the pizza itself. They claim their dough comes straight from NYC—can’t confirm, but the pizza delivers.
They don’t skimp on ingredients or stretch the dough too thin. The cheese slice was exactly how I remember a classic NY slice—cheesy, flavorful, and satisfying. The BBQ chicken was a little too sweet for my taste, but it still was a great slice.
The grandma pepperoni slice had great fluffy-yet-crispy dough and well-spiced pepperoni, though I’ve had better versions where the sauce really stood out.
Nice staff, quick reheating, and plenty of seating (both standing and sitting options). A few small tweaks—especially to the tomato and BBQ sauce—could take it to the next level, but overall, this is exactly the kind of experience you’d expect at this price point.
One bite and it always reminds me of my college days, still tastes the same. I love their pepperoni, meat lovers, and mushroom pizzas but you honestly can’t go wrong here.
