Tacos were off the charts good, some of the best I’ve ever had. Service was excellent, fast and friendly. Quesabirria and pastor we amazing.

Very nice staff. Food was tasty but a little too mild, almost bland; there were different salsas on the side to add more flavor. Good portion sizes. I might suggest having metal Utensils to make cutting food easier.

The food was delicious, I had the super nachos con carne asada y un agua de piña. My friend got a super burrito. We really enjoyed taking our time and catching up over good food. The people were nice and in no rush to kick us out. And to know they do breakfast, I got to come back for that some day.

This place is so good and they have big portions too. I hope it stays open forever! They have the best super fries and quesadillas. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Hayward!

Lalo’s taqueria was so good! Food was delicious- we had a wet burrito and quesabirria. The red and green sauce are great but Lalo sauce is even better. Lalo himself was very kind and loved sharing his thoughts of the menu. We plan to continue to go back.

I found this place through a recommendation on Reddit. It’s pretty new, but definitely worth a try.
The restaurant is on a corner lot with limited parking. Indoor seating is also limited–not ideal for large groups, but there’s enough space for a few families of four or couples.
Their menu offers a bit of everything, and the prices are cheaper than many other Mexican restaurants or food trucks.
The guy who took our order was friendly and genuinely grateful for our business. It gave the place a welcoming, small local business vibe.
I ordered one birria taco and a super burrito. Honey ordered a regular burrito.
The birria taco was good–I wish it had a bit more cheese, but overall it was solid.
The steak burrito was also great. It had a lot of flavor, the meat was well-seasoned and tender, and the price was under $20. You won’t find a super burrito this good for less. I reheated the other half the next day, and it was just as good.
Honey felt the same about her regular burrito.
Overall, we’ll be coming back to this place.

This was my first time coming to Lalo’s Taqueria, and my husband and I ordered 3 super burritos(Chile Rellenos, 2 Carne Asada). The burritos were okay. I liked the Chile Rellenos Super burrito best, my husband liked the Super burrito Carne Asada best. If you’re hungry, check out this place, you might like it, and was a nice filling burrito.

With all of the taqueria’s available, I’ve been searching for the right one. The one that serves nachos with shredded cheese and not melted cheese. When I saw on their menu that it has melted cheese, I thought okay, it’ll be shredded melted cheese. No, it’s regular nacho cheese. I’m from San Francisco, so I guess they have spoiled me with shredded cheese. The guacamole isn’t tasty, and the chicken wasn’t grilled or good. I’ve been to several taqueria’s in Hayward and I am not getting those Mexican flavors that I’m use to. The quesabirria was not tasty neither, I’ve had better. The only thing that was tasty and delightful was the horchata. I think this will be my last time eating Mexican food from this area, due to too many disappointments from the cooks that they have in the kitchen today. It’s clear as day that there is no love in what they do cause we’d taste it in the food. I ordered here based on reviews, but the reviews were a lie. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Lalo’s Taqueria has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home from the moment you step inside. The staff is friendly and attentive, setting a relaxed and inviting tone that’s ideal for a casual bite.
As for the food, however, it fell a bit short of expectations. The nachos, while decent, didn’t quite capture the authentic Mexican flair I was hoping for. They were satisfying enough, but lacked the vibrant flavors that make traditional Mexican nachos a standout dish. The quesabirria, too, could have used a bit more spice and a generous helping of meat to bring out its true potential.
If you’re in a hurry and need something quick, Lalo’s Taqueria is a convenient stop. But if you’re searching for the rich, bold flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine, you might want to look elsewhere for a more satisfying experience.
