On one of the coldest days in Chicago, I found myself randomly at Lalo’s. We were promptly greeted and when sat down they brought out complimentary chips, salsa and a little cup of warm chicken soup. Both the chips and salsa were fresh, warm and delicious. The soup was freshly made and such a perfect comfort from coming out of the cold. Food was delicious and service was attentive , friendly and thoughtful. Loved the overall atmosphere and the upbeat Latin music. A 10 out of 10 positive experience that prompted me to leave this review.

Really good food. I had the burrito dinner and shared nachos with my friend. The horchata tasted amazing. The customer service was top tier. I applaud the management for doing their jobs so well. 10/10 would recommend and come back.

We had a party there. The service was good. I ordered AL MOJO DE AJO. I didn’t like it very much. It was okay. The shrimp had smells. I like to eat well cooked shrimp. Service is trash.. be careful when you pay, l was charged for another tables meal & now l have to wait 3-5 days for a refund on my account. The manager had an attitude, the whole time, when l tried to explain to her what was going on. Never coming back!

Lalo’s is great for margaritas and drinks the end. The food is just ok, bland, not great and overpriced. Who ever likes the food here idk I feel like hunger and/or munchies played a role. However, waiting for a server on a weekend is forever!! The efficiency definitely needs help. You can still have a great time just dont expect greatness

Excellent service, good atmosphere, tasty drinks($$$). The food was extremely bland. Major lack of seasoning even salt. Zero spice/heat. This was true for the veggie burritos, rice, beans, and flautas. I my opinion the food was also over priced. The kids meals were reasonably priced.

Lalo’s on Maxwell is always a favorite when I’m in the area. The family visited the restaurant after a day in Museum Campus at the Lakefront. The restaurant was not crowded at late lunch time and was perfect for our visit. The food was outstanding, it was so good my uncle purchase a meal to go. The drinks were even better and the best Apple Martini I have had in very long time. If you enjoy great Mexican Lalo’s is the place to come…Great Food, Great Service, Even Better Drinks!!!!

Loved this place when I dined outdoors for the first time aside from getting chased by margarita-thirsty bees!!! The tamarind margarita is EVERYTHING! Super delicious, however, a bit pricier than other places I’ve been for the same drinks. The food was good; nothing super spectacular but I wasn’t disappointed. I will be back.
