Family owned and operated since 2016 Lalo’s Family Restaurant has locations in Oxnard and Camarillo, the later popular amongst locals for lunch and dinner plus a weekend breakfast that serves Pancakes and French Toast in addition to the full menu.
Open from 8am on Weekends, a number of families attending after Church, all tables begin with complimentary Chips plus housemade Salsa while the bar busily prepares Micheladas, Mojitos and Margaritas.
Offering friendly service while upbeat music plays, the kitchen working with fervor and delivering plates the same, Chilaquiles find Chips cooked in Salsa as they aught to be beneath Steak and Eggs while dueling Molcajetes are very fairly priced considering Ingredients and portion size.
Not about to ignore the sweets, bottomless Coffee refilled as rapidly as one can drink it, Tres Leches arrives as a big slice that is not overly wet but appropriately moist with a delicate sponge beneath the thin layer of creamy Frosting.

Good authentic Mexican Restaurant. The food options, drinks and vibe are awesome. We’ve had a few work lunch meetings here and it was great, however; the last visit, the bill came and it was like $15 over our regular budget. When I questioned it, the server explained that the prices had increased. The thing is, some menus had the hand written change and others didn’t. Definitely upsetting and awkward to have to question the difference in front of the team. Now we go elsewhere for work meetings.

Food presentation was great but food lacked flavor. I would recommend the seafood cocktail. Service was precise and all waiters were attentive. But tell me why the host couldn’t stay in her lane. She was young and out spoken saying unnecessary things and keep checking on our table frequently. If she didn’t say anything her facial expression sure did. We came with a party of 10, wait wasn’t long.

Lalo’s family restaurant is must try. Jenny from the team was very pleasant, patient with us, explained every dish to us prior to us ordering. They show pictures of the dish. Jenny is the best. .food is delicious and ambience is clean and calm.

Lalo’s Family Restaurant is amazing, delicious food, drinks and the service was amazing, they made sure that we had everything we needed and always checked with us if there was anything else that they could get for us. We were able to take our time to eat and enjoy good company of friends. I would recommend this restaurant to family friends and anyone looking for delicious Mexican food amongst other dishes they have as well.

I came to Lalo’s Family Resteraunt with my family to have a good lunch since I have heard good things about this place. I have to say I was disappointed with how my evening went while dining in. My family and I ordered our food with me getting a Shrimp Burrito with red rice but when I received my burrito it was really flat and didn’t have the right rice inside so I kindly asked them to fix it and they did so I was okay with it at the start. My mother got the “Mojarra Frita” with rice and beans on the side but when she tried the rice and beans they were so cold it felt like the cook made her food really early and just let it get cold over time. My mom had to ask to get it redone. My sister got the Salmon with Garlic Aioli but when she recieved it they forgot the garlic, so we told our server that they forgot it the garlic aioli and they made things right and gave my sister a complimentary piece of garlic bread as an apology but that took a turn aswell. The garlic bread was burnt and tasted awful that my sister didn’t even want to take a second bite. I’m not upset at the fact things got mixed up and orders got wrong, I’m just upset that that our food was cold and the taste of the food overall wasn’t acceptable for being decently priced. The best thing about my meal was the free water. There are better restaurants out there that have better customer care, satisfactory tasting food and just overall a more pleasant experience.

Presentation was nice. Food was ok. I came alone and prefer to sit at a bar but the bar was empty and had a funny smell to it so I got a table. Service was good, she was helpful, kind and welcoming. They didn’t have the first four drinks I ordered off of the menu (mostly draft beers and listed tequilas) after the 4th I just ordered something I was sure they had, a flavored margarita at the top of the list. I typically don’t love those and this was no exception, pineapple marg was not my jam but that was my fault for ordering it after multiple attempts. Was very unsure about the foamy bubbles on the top of the drink but after looking at photos others posted I guess that’s normal. Food presentation was nice. I was sort of surprised to have mixed greens on the sopes. It would’ve been nice if the menu listed all of the items piled onto them so I could’ve said no pico but I’m sure most people like it that way. I really liked the rice and beans!
