I brought my wife to L’Allegria for our anniversary. The food was very good. We ordered the baby octopus (Fragolini affogati) and shrimps and clams oven baked (Gamberi) appetizers. For the entree, we ordered flounder stuffed with crab meat (Sogliola farcita di Granchio) and the free range drums and thighs in garlic and oil sauce with mushrooms. Everything was flavorful and tasty. The baby octopus was tender and not chewy. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will be back again.

We came here for lunch after a Memorial Service. We received a gracious welcome. They were able to accommodate a large group with plenty of seating. Food was delicious and they kept the wine flowing. They were attentive to each table. Highly recommend.

This was our third visit to L’Allegria, and once again, it did not disappoint. We kicked off the evening with some expertly crafted cocktails, the Aspiral Spritz for me and an Old Fashioned for my husband. Both were absolutely delicious and set the tone for a great meal.

We started with their Margherita pizza, which deserves a special mention. The dough is allowed to rise not just once, but three times before baking, and the result is a crust that’s light, perfectly crunchy, and full of flavor. You can really taste the care that goes into every step.

For my main course, I had the sea bass, cooked to perfection and bursting with fresh, delicate flavors. My husband went with the gnocchi al ragú, which he’s still raving about. The texture was just right, soft and pillowy, and the sauce was rich and satisfying.

All in all, L’Allegria continues to impress us every time. It’s hands-down the best Italian restaurant in Florham Park. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

I had a wonderful experience at l’Allegria! The Italian dishes were freshly prepared and incredibly tasty – you can taste the high quality of the ingredients. I was particularly impressed by the attentive and friendly staff, who looked after us courteously throughout our visit. The atmosphere was pleasant and went perfectly with the food. If you love Italian food, you should definitely try this restaurant!

This restaurant is music to anyone who can truly appreciate and has a passion for good, authentic food.
It is owned by my husband’s family but I’m not biased in my review. I’ve learned to appreciate GOOD food since my first dining experience here.
L’Allegria is more authentic than many restaurants in Italy nowadays. Saverio’s lobster is fantastic. Traditional and classic decor. Great wine list.
Perfect place to make wonderful memories. This restaurant has been in town for more than I’ve been alive and is still going strong. For dinner or parties such as rehearsal, birthdays or other celebrations there are plenty of private rooms.
L’Allegria – where the flavor is the essence.

Very nice ambiance & setting. We enjoyed the eggplant rollatini, veal parm, and the Aragosta specialita della casa was excellent! (Chunks of fresh lobster meat, flambéed with cognac and bourbon and returned to its shell bathed with a creamy tomato sauce enhanced with sage and cayenne pepper). Did not like the meatballs.

Good and mostly authentic southern Italian restaurant. The service was a bit slow but they were very busy. Nice old style ambiance, vado manu with dishes unusual in the US (scialatielli, friarielli, fusilli fatti in casa).
Many fish and meat options.
Overall a very good experience for a Native American like me.
Plenty of appetizers (good calamari and crocchè di patate).
Parking available in the back.
Good wine list.

The first time I ate here was for lunch. It was absolutely fabulous. Decided to go for dinner and was highly disappointed. As my appetizer, I had clams with sausage. Omg, the clams were so small. I never had them black and that little. Why not do little necks? My friend had figs; she said they were good. We shared a stuffed pasta dish, which was good. For my dinner, I had stuffed flounder, which I felt was not fresh. The dessert was a piece of cheesecake that was old, not fresh. Very disappointed and very expensive. There were not many people in the restaurant, but still, we were rushed, with four other tables. Not worth it.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant! It’s very spacious for large groups and also has a great atmosphere for a romantic date. They don’t have high chairs for small babies but managed to accommodate our little one. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. It’s now one of my favorites!
