I had eggs and chorizo and that was good, but the beans and rice left something to be desired. Not bad, just…meh.
Service is FLAWLESS and they treat me well.
One host was biting nails while taking us to seat and taking an another table’s order.
* Our server was actually really nice and told us not to worry about anything and that we were fine to go without any issues. Good dude and apologized even though it wasn’t his fault.
10/10 do not recommend Lalito’s to ANYONE
We were traveling and were hungry. Usually, we like to try local (non-chain) restaurants. The BBQ place right next to this place was busy and we didn’t have time to wait. That is how we ended up here (these guys were not busy at all = there was a reason). Let me tell you, this is the worst Mexican food we’ve ever had. Coming from NW Florida, we are truly spoiled by an authentic, delicious, very fresh Mexican food. We didn’t like anything we ordered here (except for maybe the “cheese dip”). I would NOT recommend this place to anyone who values good quality, authentic Mexican food.
First, the cleanliness. The restaurant didn’t feel well-maintained—there were water-stained and broken ceiling tiles, worn-out booths with no springs, and a women’s bathroom floor that looked like it hadn’t been mopped in a long time. A cleaner, fresher atmosphere would make a huge difference.
Next, the food. The tacos, with absolutely no flavor, were buried under clumps of cheese and far too much sour cream, which completely overpowered the chicken. On top of that, there weren’t any authentic Mexican-style taco options, which was disappointing for a place that calls itself a Mexican restaurant.
Then, the guacamole. This was supposed to be an appetizer, but it was brought out AFTER the meal, without chips, and was so watered down it didn’t even resemble fresh—or even store-bought—guacamole. My family and I couldn’t stomach more than one bite. To their credit, the staff did refund us for it. However, what a disappointment in a dish they claimed was fresh.
Overall, while the staff were decent, the food, atmosphere, and presentation just weren’t there. With some changes—cleaner surroundings, more authentic flavors, and better attention to detail—this place could improve a lot.
