I love Lakewood! The food is so creative, reasonably priced, and delicious. I’ve never seen a larger or more creative selection of grilled cheese sandwiches than they have on their lunch/brunch menu and their dinners are fantastic

My wife and I made a 5:30 dinner reservation at the Lakewood Restaurant, following that with a 7:30 theater show. We started our meal, sharing a garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing along with our own French onion soup. The salad was a perfect starter with a nice variety of vegetables and a tasty dressing. The soup came hot and flavorful! The salad starter allowed the soup to cool just enough before we thoroughly enjoyed the well stocked onion, cheese and crusty bread topped soup! Very, very good to the last spoon full. The entrees arrived at our table with perfect timing, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her pistachio crusted raspberry chicken and colored carrots. She offered me a couple bites and I wouldn’t hesitate to order for my next visit. My seafood scampi was the best I’ve ever had! The ample serving of scallops, shrimp and lobster combined with fresh pasta in an incredible butter garlic cream sauce hit the spot and continues to brighten my memory with wonderful thoughts! A hot coffee was a perfect finish to our meal. Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert! LOL
Thanks Lakewood!

Ema was a delightful waitress!

Delish dinner..poached lobster and seafood scampi. Apps, onion soup..eh, not great, tasted like broth, no onions and missing melted cheese. The brussell sprout salad was good but grossly over priced for arrugala and brussell sprouts…$12! I would skip the apps, there was plenty on main entree.

Just had a lovely dinner at the restaurant! We have been going here for a few years and it is definitely a hidden treasure in this part of Maine. Beautiful views, wonderful atmosphere and an amazing staff. We also enjoy going to a show or two each season at the theatre and while they are delayed in opening, we are ordering our tickets tonight for a show in August! We also recognized our waiter from past seasons and as an actor in some of the shows (thank you Jacob, very pleasant service as always) and another waitress that was in “Anne of Green Gables” too. We just love it there!!

First time.tonthe restaurant prior to the theater. It was a Sunday, so they offered a brunch menu. Lots of items to choose.feom along with a huge alcohol menu. Great service and food. We’ll be back for sure!

Menu looked promising but the food itself was pretty mid (especially for the price). Also service was extremely slow. Even if you are opening for the season, you have 5 tables occupied, so I’m sure you could spare a minute to take our order within the 1.5 hours we were there instead of ignoring us. It was weird seeing every other table being helped besides us. Was it racism? Who knows. But needless to say, our entrees were never put in since they never came around to take our order.

Fantastic place! The drink menu is amazing- pages and pages of both classics and unique. Appetizers are shareable – we had the three cheese dip, fried goat cheese, and duck tacos. All were exceptional. The entrees were equally yummy. I had the seafood scampi, which had generous helpings of shrimp, crab, scallops, and lobster. The scallops were especially well cooked – not rubbery at all – they melt in your mouth!

Tried to do a dinner before the play next door. Sat down at 6pm, waitress visited once and got entire order. 10 minutes later we got our apps. Waitress never came back, at 7:30 ( 1.5 hrs later) she said that the ticket never got out in. I asked for the bill, and they gave us %20 off apps. Wife was hungry before, and extremely hungry throughout the play. Very disappointed, ruined our night out.

We were the first ones here when the restaurant opened, so we had a lovely private dinner.
The food was fantastic! I ordered an appetizer of broiled(?) Brussels sprouts, pistachio nuts and golden raisins. At my request, they left off the balsamic-port reduction. It was the best Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had. (I thought that the Brussels sprouts appetizer that I order at another restaurant was great, but it doesn’t hold a candle to this one. My husband agreed that they were the best Brussels sprouts he had ever tasted.
For my main course, I ordered Arroz Con Pollo— a Spanish dish of chicken and saffron rice. It has always been a favorite dish of mine, and again, it was exceptionally good. The portion was generous, and I was delighted to have enough to take some of the delicious saffron rice home.
My husband ordered short ribs. They came covered with mushrooms and and onions, on a bed of mashed potatoes with sautéed summer squash on the side. He raved about the entire meal.

My dish was the cod and it was the smallest portion ever (smaller than actual nice restaurants would serve) I don’t think I’ve ever had au gratin and peas for my seasonal vegetables, and I’m pretty sure they were slacked out. Honestly just disappointed that this place takes advantage of people who are trying to have a nice night out and don’t know that the dishes are not even close to worth the price. Would have rather gone to Burger King. Also the place was cold and menus looked like they were made in someone’s garage with scraps.
