I am giving a 1 star cause of the food. The service was mediocre, only cause we didn’t get checked on for elongated periods of time. The appetizer was gross and we only ate a few bites. The soups had no flavor (had to add salt). The pasta was bland, but not horrific but nothing special. Didn’t take home any left overs except my fettuccine which got doctored up after. Will never come here ever again. Was shocked at the quality since the stars showed high regards. The Hot Cocoa is fire though! (So I do recommend that) Everyone has there preferences, but just disappointed and not the 4.6 stars that are shown.

Good ole home cooking!! Was greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. Our server Kianna was very attentive and did a great job taking care of us! The menu has a nice variety of items serving breakfast all day as well. They have liver and onions on the menu which you don’t see much anymore. I tried the split pea soup which was thick and flavorful, so good. Food came out fast and excellent presentation and hearty portions. The kitchen did an amazing job!! I had a grilled sandwich which was superb!! Of course had to have dessert, so many homemade pies to choose from!! I went with the heath pie. A friend recommended this place and so happy she did. I would highly recommend this establishment while in Hayward WI !!

I come to Hayward every year with family and I have recently found Lakewood Cafe. My girlfriend and I enjoy going for lunches. Last year they had the most amazing stuffed pepper soup . When we went the other day we asked if they were going to have it at all this week, but they said they haven’t had it since last year or so. They told us they could have a pot ready for the next day. That’s the kind of place this is, they care about the customers and most importantly, they listen.
If you’ve never tried Lakewood, I would highly recommend stopping in. All of the food we have tried has been amazing, with even more amazing service!

The food is good and consistent quality. Portions are large. Nothing remarkable/outstanding that I have tried, but good nonetheless.
The service is outstanding every time I’ve been here and they definitely did a great job remodeling the place.

Fast service. Menu is huge! Food was pretty average though (although pancakes and their cake was good). Maybe would be good to limit the menu more and focus on what you do best.

When you first walk in you feel like you are at a fancy restaurant. They did a lot of work to this place and invested heavily. The whole place is clean and organized. The bathroom was incredibly clean almost like no one used it. Staff seemed to be on the go but attentive to their guests. I don’t know if one young guy there uses his phone for his job but he seemed to be on it a lot. Young guy dark hair bleached slightly in the middle.
Our server was great. She checked on us, smiled, and very professional. Excellent work young lady. Wish I got her name to give her a shout out.
The food was good. The onion rings were delicious and the salad was the average family restaurant salad. I got the Parmesan Meatballs and it was good. Meatballs had great flavor and cooked perfect. The sauce was good, could use a bit more but overall delicious.
I do recommend this place if you are in Hayward Wisconsin.

Sports Fan
Party of 5. All had the $17.99 fish fry tonight. Included soup or salad, corn, and choice of potato. HUGE walleye filets! One person had the cod and all very flavorful. All staff were very attentive. Place is clean. Owner is very outgoing and touches base with you to make sure you’re doing well. We all talked about how impressed we were with everything and will definitely be back!

You won’t leave hungry! Food is good and portions are insane. My only complaint is the walleye was really fishy and dripping with oil. Everything else was great.
