The day of our reservation we ran late and I called to ask if it would be a problem arriving 20 mins late and the woman assured me they had open reservation until then.
There’s parking right outside the restaurant which was nice and the lobby and restaurant were decorated beautifully. However as we approached the host abruptly shouted, in a short tone from inside the restaurant, if we had a reservation. We said yes and he informed me he just tried to call me to cancel our reservation, and that the last chance to order was in 15 mins. I let him know we called in advance and he just dismissed it and asked me fill out some paper for me being vegetarian and got our table ready. It’s just a poor first impression on the restaurants part.
The server was very accommodating and helpful and luckily did not rush us. We ordered the risotto and the short rib ravioli and both were excellent.
Afterwards we headed to the Skytop resort where they allegedly had live music. The hotel staff said that we had been misinformed and that live music was only Saturday’s.
Overall I just wouldn’t come back just based on the customer service. It’s a shame because the restaurant is decent, I wish better for those in the future!
The wine selection is a bit limited but good international options from Italy, France, and Spain at reasonable prices.
The dinners were all wonderful. We did have one fillet go back as it arrived well done instead of medium rare-disappointing. Everything though was delicious.
The staff was also well seasoned, attentive but not intrusive.
The desserts were as expected – great! Leave room for dessert!
Although this is an expensive dinner, it’s what I would expect for the price.
Much better than the Windsor room, it’s a very different experience and very different menu. It’s well worth it.
Bone Apatite!
The house-made spinach pappardelle with English peas, asparagus, zucchini, and wild ramp pesto was absolutely delicious. And the La Belle Farms duck breasts? Perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked to perfection.
Of course, exceptional food is only part of the dining experience—stellar service truly brings it all together. A huge shout-out to Carolyn and Ashanty for their warmth and attentiveness. They made our evening not just enjoyable, but genuinely memorable. We felt celebrated from start to finish.
Knowing that there are not many high-quality restaurants in the area, this is one I would recommend! You also do not need to be staying at the lodge to dine. If we’re in the area again we will be back!
Some random management stuff: We made a reservation for 10 for my birthday. Ended up changing it to 11 with no issues. It was pushed back a little and that was no issue. We showed up on time but it took them a long time to set up our table. Honestly, none of really matter because we still wanted to sit and take our time anyways.
The food is great and our server was so so sweet. Definitely eat here for your special event.
The grilled Salmon was prepared very well and was presented with a bed of both lentils and sautéed spinach and topped with roasted delicata squash rounds. I enjoyed every bite.
My husband ordered the same dish and left the prep to the chef, his was not grilled as long and cooked to his liking.
For dessert (which in all honesty I thought might have come with some kind of decor to notate our anniversary or acknowledgement of the special occasion. When we reserved our table we were asked if it were a special occasion but it didn’t matter) we chose the tiramasu. It was dry and not soaked in the typical coffee liquid that traditionally makes the cake sumptuous. The meal overall was good and the servers attentive but just not exceptional. The price and value were comparable to the experience. The location would normally be a high point as the restaurant is located on a lake but after dark you have no views except windows overlooking a lawn with a fire pit and some Adirondack chairs. Romantic and titillating it was not. The location had a front deck with a gaslit fire and chairs to relax upon with awnings for cover at the ready but it was too cold on the night we visited to sit out for very long.
