In 1948 Robert Pearce bought a Ballston Lake farm for its old barn and the cider press that was in it. Built in the late 1880’s, the 120 ton screw driven press was put to use and Bob, his wife Agnes and their son Dick began making and selling filtered, preserved cider. The store’s continued success led to the construction of an apple barn in 1971 in order to better serve customers who came to buy apples and cider during the busy fall rushes. Now offering inside and outside dining, pick-up and catering as well! Local produce is available and the Gift Shoppe is the perfect place to find the sweetest gift.

Part breakfast & lunch cafe, part gourmet market, seasonal cider mill & garden center.

Lovely farm shop with some great items. We came for breakfast this morning. Everything was lovely but I got fried eggs instead of the scrambled I ordered. My husband loved the grits. The gift shop sells some really nice gifts.

What a great restaurant with counter ordering, plenty of seating, a breakfast and lunch menu, groceries, flowers, gifts, super friendly staff. Reminded me of a childhood dream. (so much candy!) I’d never been here before, but spoke to one couple who’d been coming for 30 years and a man who had been coming for over 40. !!! Prices resonable, food was great. I got an open-faced Reuben. Tasty!

Originally came here for the apple fritter and cider donuts, then as I got there realized they also had other donuts and pastries. So then donuts I wasn’t a fan of the yeast donuts, they just had a different texture than any yeast donut I’ve had but the cake donuts were really good and flavorful. The cinnamon roll was huge, soft and fluffy, but just lacked cinnamon filling imo. The fudge fancy is a great surprise and very similar to bella napolis fudge fancies. The pumpkin cookies were a good change for me, very soft and full of flavor and great frosting. Then the apple fritter steals the show, crisp outside and soft inside, imo the only thing that’s could make it better is a little more apple chunks, but it was great as is. Also great prices

Busy place, service rating doesn’t exactly apply since all they do is take your order and you have to submit, go pick up your food, and bus your table.
I had scrambled eggs with ham and sourdough bread. Everything was bland. My dining companion had barley soup, which was excellent, and a meatloaf sandwich which contained soggy meatloaf.
The general store had fresh produce and baked goods which all looked good.
Note: if you are sensitive to smells, avoid the gift shoppe. Scented sachets are prominent, outside at the entrance, and inside there are numerous candles and other scents that are overwhelming.

Great little country store with an amazing sandwich shop. My whole family got different sandwiches (Sorry if right the names) but they were all so delicious. We also got some really good apples and there’s a good gift shop with tons of local made items. This was a real hidden gem.

Excellent little place! Lots of selection for fresh fruits, vegetables, and baked goods. You can order warm food from the kitchen. Reminds me of an old time restaurant, very cool. Staff were super friendly and everyone was busy busy! Definitely check this place out!

This place has grown too big and commercial for my personal tastes. I have been going here for over 30 years and I think this was the last time. The employees are wonderful! That needs to be said. But the chaos both inside and outside and the huge distance from the main parking area (because the original is always overflowing) really take away from the experience. The apples are good but there are other places in the area. The baked goods now contain a lot of filler ingredients and the meats also. That was disappointing and we wound up with just some produce. Oh, and their bloody mary mix which looks pretty good. So, I might go back for that sometime…

The best apple cider that was ever pressed! Farm fresh veggies, fruits, and local honey are all on my weekly shopping list. Plus the pies, home made sandwiches, hand crafted sweet treats, and just the vibe of the property is good for your soul. I’m 42 and have been coming here as long as I can remember. Making new memories with my kids with the kindest best people on earth at lakeside farms

Love the convenience of a local farm nearby. Everything I’ve gotten from here has been fresh and delicious. The produce is usually locally sourced, even if I’m getting 7 plums that are already ripe and ready to be eaten for a steal of $2. A loaf of bread is around $4 and does need to be eaten/refrigerated quickly as it doesn’t have all the grosse added preservatives as store bought. Highly recommend the soups here and the sandwiches! This place is a gem so don’t be surprised at how busy it is!
