This place was actually referred to me by another restaurant. I was looking for so.e place that had chicken fried steak. So we found this place and tried it out. This place was nice and clean. The service was outstanding. The food was good except for one thing. The green beans tasted like they came right out of the can and dumped a gallon of pepper in them. Other than that, it was a good experience, and I will go back.

Our meals were very tasty and plentiful, big ice teas, staff excellent. Lakeside Cafe easy to find plenty of parking lots of customers super nice efficient staff. BUTT THE CIGARETTE SMELL FROM THE BAR yucks! Must remove ashtrays that aren’t in use and clean them. Must address the leaking beverage frig by restrooms as huge liability for falls. Beautiful dining area, outside plants amazing. Thank you for making these improvements with ashtrays and cig smell.

A friend took me to this restaurant it was her favorite but no longer the hamburger was raw and when brought to her attention she said it was a protein called we could read about it on the internet
We did look it up and there is a protein but it makes the meat look brown not red so this was uncooked meat.
Raw meat is the number one

They were PACKED when we went. The service was still decent and the omlete was on point! I couldn’t even finish it. The biscuits were fall-apart delicious

Tried for the first time and ordered a large filet catfish plate which was anything but that. It took forever to get waited on considering it was mostly empty area. I think I recall 3-4 tables of people in the whole area. I nearly just got up and left after waiting at least 25 min to be attended to. My catfish strips were hot and decent but was not a large filet. My fries were nothing special and the black eye peas were flavorless. The hush puppies were less than desirable to even try. Good thing it was a very reasonably priced meal. Won’t try them again.

I have been to this place many times. Have left some really Great reviews along with those visits. Today was the total opposite.We waited 10- 15 minutes for menus, the buser handled our drink order.. but we watched the waitress serve drinks at the bar for the the Drinkers rather then venture our way. I get it.. the more they drink the better the tip. I got up and asked the buser for menus. I ordered the Crazy Tacos.. they were hardly mediocre.. as well as was the waitress.. the poor buser/ server saw the table more than the waitress, and NOT ONE PERSON EVER QUESTIONED WHY I HAD A FULL PLATE OF FOOD.. I literally took 1 bite of the taco and 2 of the beans. Rice was very plain and tasted like salty rice.. Nothing close to Mexican rice or Spanish rice. ( just cus it looks like doesn’t mean it tastes like it) Back to the tacos.. my onion and cilantro was actually cooked in with the minced beef. If I had to guess it was to make the taco look fuller. I asked for more onion and cilantro and was advised they charge more.. I said no prob.. I asked for sour cream same answer.. If I ask For It I’d Like it PLEASE N TY!

The service this time was great where the last several times I have had to wait very long periods of time for drinks, menus, food etc. this visit the sausage on my breakfast plate was burned and dry, eggs were under cooked. On my kids plates the fries were raw and on my wife’s plate the chicken fried steak was very tough. The entire place smells strongly of cigarette smoke as of there ventilation system isn’t working properly.

I travel a lot. Local cafes are a big part of my travels. Stopped in at the Lakeside Cafe for a Saturday morning meal. Didn’t wait to be seated since most local cafes don’t worry about it. The locals were locals! Had a meat omelette with home fries and gravy. One of the best I’ve had in a long time. The potatoes were excellent. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was Texas.
