Sat outside on the patio for lunch. Seating was plentiful. Every table has umbrellas so sitting in the sun was not a worry in addition to the number of fans that helped create a very mild breeze but made it comfortable.

Went here for lunch and sat outside. Wasn’t busy, had excellent service, staff was very friendly and always checking in. Had fried calamari as an appetizer which was delicious. Had tacos and chicken sandwich in for lunch. Serving sizes were well worth the price and had zero complaints. Excellent place to take a motorcycle ride too in CT for lunch.

Two of our party got fish and chips and coleslaw the fish had a over bearing salt taste unfortunately was like eating spoon fulls of salt water, tasted like they soaked the whitefish in a brine, it was almost inedible, only one dish was taken off the bill. My smoked brisket and mashed potatoes were delicious, the brisket would have been perfect if it wasn’t swimming in a cup full of oil. The crab cakes were delicious, perfectly cooked. The baked scrod/scallops and shrimp & Mac and cheese were very delicious, the risotto wasn’t really risotto, it was rice and quinoa with a touch of cheese sauce… maybe….but taste ok, not fantastic though.

UPDATE May 14, 2023 (Mother’s Day): My wife and I were returning from a trip to Boston on Mother’s Day and both were thinking how we missed getting a lobster dinner while there. Then we remembered the incredible lobster rolls we had gotten about seven months ago at the Lakeside Bar & Grill. So, we modified our travel route to take us through East Hampton, CT so we could stop at the Lakeside.

This was an AWESOME end to my wife’s birthday getaway celebration. We live a couple towns away and we had been out in Newport different high end restaurants and did not have best experience but LAKESIDE made up for it all. The moment we arrived the very friendly and kind gentleman was able to direct us to a great parking spot. When we walked through the door there multiple hostess that all greeted us with big smile and welcomed us in. From the apps to the main course and the deserts were are top notch. What made our visit over the top was our waitress Olivia she was friendly, attentive , personable and checked on us throughout our visit perfectly.

New owners from a few years ago when it was Angelicos. You would think things would have changed but the kitchen still can’t keep up. We had reservations for 7 and a normal food order. Took 70+ min to get the food. They ended up giving us a free round of drinks and 10% off the bill. This has been a problem for years. Will never go again

We have eaten at Lakeside Bar & Grill three times this summer season. The atmosphere is outstanding and the servers have been top notch. We loves the views of the water; outside seating is comfortable and the inside very homey. The food has been a great disappointment. Almost every dish we have had has been mediocre at best with food lacking spices, over-cooked shrimp, insipid soups or salads that claim to have balsamic vinegar but have no dressing. I can say that we did have a good burger and fries. Food presentation was good. We would be regulars there if the food was better.

Went here for lunch and it was a great experience! Food was fantastic and our waitress was the best. Our youngest didn’t like the mac n cheese because it wasn’t kraft. She was so understanding and brought out another meal without any issue. The Mac n Cheese was delicious but my daughter is picky with her Mac n Cheese. I will definitely be back again.

My sister and I stopped here for dinner at our Air BnB host’s recommendation. We were not disappointed. The Food was terrific, service was on point and what a beautiful location when sitting outside viewing the lake across the street. The menu selection was a good mix of seafood and traditional fare. The service was attentive but not annoyingly so. If I lived closer I would be here on the regular! So many other dishes I would love to try!
