We went here for Valentines Day, hoping for a great atmosphere and great food, and were not disappointed! This secret jewel in the northern suburbs is a steakhouse whose quality of service and food is on par with any steakhouse in the city. Our server Ericka guided us through a superb meal, giving us an experience we will soon not forget. Walking us through the menu, specials as well as history of the steakhouse, she made us feel right at home.
Food was unbelievable. With everything made in house, the quality comes through. The stuffed mushrooms were some of the best we have ever had. For the main course, the dry aged rib eye as well as filet mingon did not disappoint! To end the night, the hand made cannoli cake was so light and fluffy, I’m still tasting it!
A+ experience from start to end, and already thinking of the next occasion we can come out and visit soon!

Lake Barrington Steakhouse truly impressed me. The steak was really good, cooked to perfection with a beautiful sear on the outside and tender, juicy meat on the inside. The flavor was rich and well-seasoned, making each bite a delight.
The atmosphere of the restaurant added to the experience, with a warm and inviting ambiance that made it perfect for a special night out. Magnificent paintings were placed throughout the restaurant. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent service throughout the meal.
Overall, I highly recommend this steakhouse to anyone looking for a great dining experience. If you’re a steak lover, you won’t be disappointed!

We celebrated our anniversary at LBS this week. First, the hospitality and service are unmatched anywhere. We felt truly welcomed! We were greeted with champagne, roses and a lovely card in honor of our 42nd anniversary. The food!!! We started with stuffed mushrooms…you could make this a meal and be truly satisfied! The steaks were prepared to perfection…flavorful and “melt in your mouth” delicious! Our dessert was this amazing peach cobbler, topped with ice cream…reminded me of the way my mother made it down south! We will be regular customers…no doubt about it!

Everything was wonderful. My husband and I decided to do an early Valentine’s dinner. We walked in and were greeted cheerfully and immediately walked to a table. Our server Michael was great. I tried a new drink. A cucumber raspberry mule. It was delicious. The chicken Milanese was perfect. My husband enjoyed a ribeye. We will definitely return.

Went there recently with my parents for their wedding anniversary. We went on a Sunday at about 5:30 PM. I mentioned to the server that it was their anniversary and she was nice and brought over a Glass with three or four flowers in it. She and the other server on duty that night were very very nice. I ordered the steak I wanted, which was very expensive and my parents ordered their meals. After waiting a short time, I was told that the steak I had ordered was sold out and I would have to choose another. Begrudgingly, I did so and it was very good, but it wasn’t the one I wanted. After she serves our meals, and when she came to check on us, she told us to Save room for dessert. She mentioned how great the peach cobbler was and then it was more than enough for the three of us. We told her that we were interested in that and we’d like to order that for dessert. She said she would put the order in. Upon hearing how good the peach cobbler was the table next to us Ordered it also. When we were finished with our meal, we asked her to bring out the peach cobbler. The two tables next to us got theirs. Again, she came back a few minutes later and said that they had sold out of the peach cobbler at 6:30 at night. She asked if we wanted to choose something else, she recommended the cheesecake, which was good, but it was barely enough for two people let alone three. This was the second time we’ve been there. The first time was right around Halloween and it was very loud and hard to have a conversation.
I rate the food very high, but it’s also extremely expensive. A side of asparagus, which Includes four or five spears is over $10. I don’t know that I recommend it enough that I would go back there again. I’m very sure my parents won’t either and they live right down the street.

A Hidden Gem in Lake Barrington – Vintage Fine Dining at Its Best
We had an unforgettable evening at Lake Barrington Steak House, and I can’t wait to share how special this place is. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality were unmatched—our hostess greeted us right from the parking lot with a smile that set the tone for the night.
Our server, Mike, was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. The food? Absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the filet mignon, and I had the ribeye—both cuts were top-tier and cooked to absolute perfection. Oh, and by the way the sweet potato cheese cake was amazing! Next time I want to try the peach cobbler that was sold out. Bummer!
The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and inviting—what I’d call vintage fine dining. It’s a family-owned business, and you can feel the love and pride in every detail. One of the most touching elements was the artwork displayed throughout the restaurant, painted by the owner’s daughter. Her talent adds a personal and artistic charm to the space.
To top it all off, the chef himself greeted us—and we later learned he was once Michael Jordan’s personal chef! That alone speaks volumes about the caliber of the cuisine. Living in Cary, we’re thrilled to have such a high-quality, heartfelt dining experience right in our neighborhood.
If you’re looking for a place that combines exceptional food, heartfelt service, and a truly welcoming atmosphere, Lake Barrington Steak House is it. We’ll absolutely be back.
