They don’t have a very large menu, but it does have a lot of great options on it, especially for over 5000 feet above sea level. I chose one of the specials for the night which was the Black Cod. It was honestly great, cooked perfectly, and a fair portion. I enjoyed every part of it and would recommend. I also started off with the French Onion Soup and that too was great, it was a bit saltier than most versions I have back home, but still I liked it. We also ordered the Cobb Salad which was generous in portions, and we both really liked it. I was not a very big fan of the French Fries, that was the only downside of the meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for dinner when visiting Lake Arrowhead, especially for anyone looking for a great place for a date.
Absolutely superb! Our server this year was Yasmeen. Personable, friendly and excellent server all the way around.
The food is everything one would want for a special meal. French Onion soup was divine. I had Filet mignon and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly and the Bernaise made it even more delectable. Husband had the rib eye and he loved it. The garlic mashed potatoes were perfect. The creamed spinach was delicious. And bday desert was bread pudding…If you go, dont pass this up. 2nd favorite was the cheesecake. And last year I had the sorbet which was delicious.
One of the reasons this place is perfect is the dog friendliness. The indoor patio is perfect and comfortable and everyone greets the pup too. Our husky loves the place as much as we do.
We will be back every year. And probably before next Feb also.
Unfortunately, the food quality didn’t match the prices. I ordered the New York steak (over $50) and expected it to be tender and high quality, but it was quite tough and felt like lower-grade meat. The French onion soup was decent. The chocolate margarita was okay, but the whipped cream on top was unusual and didn’t really fit the drink.
Overall, service was solid, but the prices are much higher than average and the food quality doesn’t justify the cost.
We’re fine with paying for higher end meals. Nothing new. This just is way beyond reasonable for what we received. It seems like a good place but just way overpriced. The happy hour drinks were reasonable though and they were made well. They definitely need extra staffing in the bar on the weekends.
This is one of those places that could really do better and be amazing. The financial potential and the atmosphere is there. I wish I owned this place. It’s beautiful on the inside and they have so many wonderful and creative dishes. They just needs to create a better value.
The menu is heavy handed with thick sauces. It’s like no dish can stand on it’s own without being covered in some gravy of some sort. They even feel compelled to put whipped cream on the espresso martini. The vegetables tend to be string beans, the starch mostly mashed potatoes and rice. Food comes out lukewarm. This is the kind of restaurant parents loved in the 70s.
True to that the drinks were surprisingly strong and and large and therefore a good value. The other plus is that likely due to it’s prices and menu selections it’s not so much of a family restaurant as so many of the other places on this lake are, hence it’s much quieter and more intimate.
If you want a nice quiet intimate dinner in a nice setting with some strong drinks and maybe a couple of appetizers to share it will serve that purpose well
