
Established in 2006, La Puente is the first of two Lajamaya Salvadorean Restaurant locations. Ruth is and continues to be the original owner. She was born in El Salvador and came to the US in the 80s. Her mother owned a restaurant and taught Ruth to cook as a child. Ruth was an accountant for 12 years for a supermarket but dreamed of having her own business venture someday. Her first job was working quality control for the health department and oversaw mass food production for schools and hospitals which gave her great insight on food production in the United States. If service was faster I would rate higher but unfortunately it was not.
I also got the ensalada drink, which was very tasty. I ordered horchata for my son, however neither of us were very fond of it.
But no complaints about the food. It was very tasty and I was full halfway through my plate.
