Social Profile:

Established in 2019, Azusa is the second of two Lajamaya Salvadorean Restaurant locations. Ruth is and continues to be the original owner. She was born in El Salvador and came to the US in the 80s. Her mother owned a restaurant and taught Ruth to cook as a child. Ruth was an accountant for 12 years for a supermarket but dreamed of having her own business venture someday. Her first job was working quality control for the health department and oversaw mass food production for schools and hospitals which gave her great insight on food production in the United States. With the help of her husband, she opened Lajamaya Salvadorean and offered all the traditional recipes her mother made when she was growing up. Now, the business remains success…

My daughter and I stopped by La Jamaya for a quick lunch. We ordered Pupusas Revueltas, Fried Yucca and pork strips with Empanadas filled with cream and Horchata drinks. The food took a few minutes after we ordered but was worth the wait food taste good, it was filling.

No waitress. Have to order at the cashier desk. Very rude employees. Also the corn tamales have no flavor everything expensive. Never going there again. They get a 0 from me. Take a long time for taking an order. I go McDonald’s next time.

Excellent customer service, the food was delicious. I ordered a pupusa and a combination plate with casamiento, fried plantains , chorizo sour cream and a piece of cheese, it was super good also the ensalada( a Salvadoran fruit drink ) was also very good
Their dining room was very cool as it was 93 degrees outside.
Portions are very generous, I took half of my food home . Will come again to try another dish.

I like and enjoy pupusas. But this time I did not get them. I got a steak combo with rice beans and lettuce. It was delicious. The red hot sauce was delicious. I really enjoy the ensalada drink. It is always delicious. It is one of my favorite drinks! . It is a refreshing drink. This place has some tables and seats to dine in and clean private customer restroom. There is a lot of public parking for your car. And if you have a car with a dolly & a car hooked up to your dolly or something big and long like a medium size RV you can park inside the parking lot.

I appreciate the service here. Thank you .

I originally would go to the La Puente location. But now that this one opened, I’ll be visiting it more often! Perfect quality pupusas, friendly service, and very clean. Just as good as the La Jamaya in LP. If you like pupusas with stringy cheese and warm soft beans, this is your place to go. La Jamaya is my favorite pupuseria and I’m so happy they’ve expanded closer to me.

As a first time customer, won’t be going back. Once my order is wrong that’s it. Place wasn’t busy, and I know their policy of “if the food is wrong, bring it back ASAP,” but my time is valuable, $20+ I paid will come back to me. Great Jamaica, and even though they got my order wrong, the cheese pupusas that should have been cheese with chicharrón were ok.

Horrible experience. I went to dine-in, other people that order after me got their order first. However, the worst part is that the male who appeared to be in charge, twice walked to every table asking if they needed anything if everything was okay but once he got close to my table he never asked me anything and just ignore me. I guess if you’re not from El Salvador, you get the worst treatment

Ordered dinner to go. Last minute I decided to get a quesadilla sweet bread. To my surprise, when I sat down to enjoy it 2 days after, I found a dirty band-aid wrapped within the wrapping. I called to make a complaint and was told I would get a callback and nothing. This was beyond disgusting and unsanitary. Last time you hear from me.

They gave me burnt pupusas, I called to see if I can get my money back or replaced , the guy that answered the phone said I don’t know what to tell you I only charge here (in spanished) and laughed. I asked to speak to a manager he said they didn’t have one. To call the next day to see if I can catch the order there. I had to throw the pupusas away. I took a pictures to show proof how they were. I called the following day spoke to Maricela and she told me to call back later in the day that she was going to speak to the owner. Called back and said the owner told her for me to dig through the trash and take the food back in order to get a refund or a fresh new batch. There was nothing she could do. If she had a manager to take care of complaints on the spot or have employees trained to handle complaints and provide a solution. I live 20 min from there, not around the corner. I lost about $40 worth of food, I ordered 9 pupusas.
