Delicious malatang and very friendly owner. I liked that it was not self-serve and likely more sanitary than regular malatang. Also such a treat that they had 锅包肉, a specialty from my family’s region in China. It was so delicious and fresh, and we loved it!

This place is inside the 99 Ranch Asian grocery store. We were browsing pork buns next door but when we saw Malatang, we just had to try it. The staff didn’t speak English that well but at least he was able to take our order correctly. It strangely gave me a good vibe because I felt like the food would be authentic. I was correct! The Malatang was quite good but it’s not the best I’ve had. For a grocery store restaurant, I’d rate this Malatang 7/10. The base taste is there. I didn’t like that I had to pick the ingredients. I didn’t know how much of what was enough. I was just checking boxes and we had a language barrier. It turned out I had too many noodles and not a lot of other ingredients. Maybe I’ll get it right next time. The wait time was quite reasonable for freshly cooked food! There’s a bubble tea place right across the place so you can wash it all down nicely. I’m stopping by again if I’m ever in 99 Ranch.

This place has the best malatang in the Virginia area!❤️ I’ve been twice now and tried both their malatang and guo bao lou, and I’m absolutely in love with both dishes. The flavors are amazing, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The staff is super friendly, always going out of their way to make you feel welcome, and the restaurant is always clean and well-maintained. I can’t wait to come back and bring my family next time! Highly recommend this spot to anyone craving authentic, delicious malatang!! 🙂

Malatang and Maraxiangguo, all menus are very delicious. However, Guobaorou is kinda oily, so you have to be careful because it is very hot when you take your first bite. I visited there at mealtime and had to wait a lot for the food to come out. I will revisit here next time!

The sweetest customer service experience I’ve ever gotten! Prices are so much better than the other malatang location in Annandale and for a reasonable quantity as well. The whole experience was made so much better by the lovely man working there – so fluent in both Mandarin and Korean and made sure we had aprons to protect our clothes. PLEASE don’t hesitate to support small businesses!!! It makes more of a difference!!!
