Perfect place for a dinner date! They were able to assist me in surprising my wife during valentine’s day. They highly recommend reservations but walk ins are also welcomed. The server we had was nice and able to answer the bestseller of the resto. Parking space available at the back, street side or by the bank across.they accept credit/debit.

Best atmosphere in Northern VT for fine, relaxed dining. Superb bartenders and chef-owned (your Italian chef cares what you’re served). This is a true family business with many locally sourced menu items. Eat here (and check out the martini board). Portion size is larger than 90% of nice restaurants I’ve visited.

What a bad experience bringing my friends to celebrate my birthday. For the first time in my life, I canceled an order, making my close ones uncomfortable, but I refused to spend my money and time with horrible service and food. We arrived and were welcomed by the server (Chris, I think his name was). I can say he is a good guy, but he was overwhelmed, even though it wasn’t busy. The only thing I can remember is him repeatedly saying, “We do not have duck.” I ordered the 24-ounce margarita. It seemed watered down and flavorless. I sent it back and got wine. We ordered appetizers: calamari, which was straight from a bag (let me mention I have worked in the food industry for 10 years), so there was no effort in prepping, cooking, or anything. We also ordered meatballs and asked for extra bread, which we would have paid for, but were told it wasn’t possible. We received appetizer plates with a lot of water on them. Again, it wasn’t a busy night; they could have let the plates dry, or hand-dried them. When I went to cancel the order, the poor server didn’t know what to do and yelled to the chef. “Table 11 is canceling the order,” the chef yelled back, “Why?” And that was it; no “How can we make your experience better?” Can you tell what went wrong? I mean, obviously, there is no service training in place here, and the food is overpriced for what you are getting. It’s a shame to have spent time here.
BTW, we still tipped the server. It was not his fault, but he could have put in a little more effort. Customer service is not for everyone.
Hopefully more than getting offended they try to get better food and service. The place has a lot of potential and is well located.

Luan and I had excellent ceasar salads before two superb entrees. She had the cheese ravioli special with a full lobster tail and scallops in a light rosa sauce. My meal was a fabulous veal chop with a marsala reduction, with mushrooms and a bit of cream mixed in. Chef / owner Frank was warm and open discussing what went into our meals and the service from Sarena was very good. If you’re in Newport VT be sure to stop.
