Decided to try. Got there at 1130am for lunch. Ordered their roast beef sandwich, called The Hillsborough, fries and fountain drink. They charge 3% for me using debit card and for one sandwich, fries and drink was close to $23. Was informed this was a hot sandwich. I was given a to-go styrofoam cup to get my own beverage. Large market area. All the small tables are high tops with high stools. The 2 regular height tables are long, tables with 10 chairs to share with whomever or for large groups. Chair cushions were stained. The photos of dining are online must be another location, not this one. My order was brought to me at my table in a paper bag! I said I didn’t order take out and was informed that is how all their food is served. I was asked if I wanted a plate. I said yes and given a plate to do it myself. The Hillsborough roast beef sandwich was SOOO SALTY it was almost inedible. It was also not hot, as was told. The meat was literally cold and this was supposed to be a hot sandwich. There was no bacon jam and no shallots. One extremely thin slice of cheese that wasn’t even melted. The bread was a small soft roll that was barely warm. The fries were hot and fresh but also way too salty and couldn’t finish those either due to too much salt. I typically eat things with a lot of salt but this was too salty for me! I had to go back to refill my styrofoam cup withore beverage TWICE to eat even half my order because of the saltiness. Overall, way too pricey for what you get. Jason’s Deli, Village Deli, etc are much better for taste, salt, and price. I may try again and get something different

Hi, great people—-The reviews are true! This hidden gem is a go to for early morning breakfast or a lovely lunch on the patio. The location is quiet and just lovely with the trees offering shade on the patio.
The customer service is simply phenomenal. You absolutely won’t be disappointed. They offer samples of their deli. The prices are hard to beat. There’s also a small market with wine and beer. I appreciate them celebrating NC favorites.
I had the pleasure of getting a chicken salad croissant that had arugula and tomatoe on it. I was very pleased at the party portion. So what are you waiting for?
You’ll enjoy this location as much as I did. Don’t forget to smile often, be grateful, and be kind. They are all contagious.

I cannot express enough how impressed I was with The Glenwood. Their take on the Italian sub is really impressive. As good as the sandwich was the fries were stunning. Gordon Ramsay could eat a meal here and leave very happy without ever having to raise his voice.

Food was disappointing. They were out of pasta salad on a Saturday at lunch (how?!)
They have so many sandwhiches that look good on the menu. Didn’t realize the weekend options are very limited and not very appealing. Could not tell if there were eggs in my breakfast burrito or not, and it didn’t feel freshly made (not warm, bland). You have to study the online menu with a microscope to figure out which time zone your food craving fall into.

Really enjoyed my drink and wrap. Decent price for a lunch out. Cool little market inside. Nice stop off the Crabtree trail

Services are the worst,it’s like you are forcing them to serve you, been there twice and both occasions none of the attendants wanted knew what they were doing, first time i had a sandwich and the bread was soggy and the vegetables didn’t feel fresh ,second time tried their orange cake and was the worst cake i’ve had,not sure if they were going for moist but in was sogged with what tasted like syrup or sugar water ,i have a sweet tooth but that cake was loaded so much sugar, that i just threw up on the second bite. Don’t waste your time or money

I loved every single thing about this place. The drinks were delicious and strong! The food was delicious on their brunch menu. They have an entire section of take-home breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The staff was kind and helpful. I found several pieces in my salad that were wilted and definitely unappealing. We told our bartender and said we just wanted to point it out and didn’t want a refund. The manager still came back to our table with a giftcard anyway. This spot is a little hidden gem I hope that stays that way!

The buffalo chicken sandwich is so yummy with the ranch slaw. I’d recommend to pair it with the Thai chili chips!

Such a cozy spot with tasty food and awesome service! They have a cute area where you can buy knickknacks or gifts for someone! And you can pick up premade frozen meals that they offer! We loved it here and can’t wait to come back!(:

After reading all of the wonderful reviews, I can only assume we caught them on an off day today. Ordered a Hillsborough and a Saint Mary’s to go. The young man taking orders was as polite as can be, my to-go order was ready quickly, and it was delightful inside the market/restaurant.
I had ordered potato salad and fresh fruit as my two sides, but received two fruit salads (much to the dismay of my husband who is not a fan of fruit.) My husband couldn’t find any cheese or crispy shallots on his Hillsborough (although we did realize later the cheese was very thinly sliced and had melted), and I could find no discernible portobello mushrooms on my Saint Mary’s, despite it being the first listed ingredient. At $15 per sandwich, it just seemed like quite an expensive lunch to have so many things overlooked.
