We were allowed to be promptly seated upon entering the bar/restaurant area and the servers were courteous but not the most attentive with checking up on us during the meal for refreshing water or drinks. The menu has a few robust options and we chose the crab cakes and calamari both which were well portioned and flavorful. There was little wait for the food orders. For a restaurant inside of a hotel I felt the menu was curated well and the pricing is typical of similar hotel restaurants.
There is valet parking provided by the hotel (the restaurant is inside of Le Méridien) and paid street parking

We left after being there every bit of 7 minutes. It goes without saying that our party of two were dressed business casual and appeared harmless. Unless you would consider our race a crime. Needless to say I would not step foot in this establishment again.
Having stayed at the Madison I was curious about the diner menu they had available, so on my second night staying I ordered room service. The menus are available via a QR code near the phones, which is convenient.
Ended up going with the lollipop chicken wings, penne pomodoro, and the cheese cake. Total come to a whooping $50+, and these are not family proportions mind you, this meal is clearly intended for a single person.
Then the quality must be the key, right? Honestly? No. The wings were so tiny, a couple bites a piece, and their flavor was no better than buffalo wings you can get from a wing bar at Market 32. The pasta was watered down and barely had a flavor of tomato, without any cheesy texture or punch. (despite the presence of cheese on it) And the cheese cake was clearly pulled from a freezer and thawed out, as it was crumbly and gritty, indications of freezer burn.
Clearly I’ve learned my lesson, if the hotel has a restaurant, and the prices seem exorbitant, then they likely are. This is clearly a “for the convenience” thing with some fancy handwaving. Don’t be a sucker, just go out to any of the nearby restaurants for a better meal at more reasonable price.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting her, and she is truly exceptional. From the moment I approached the bar, Erin made me feel welcome. She took the time to listen to me, a complete stranger, for over an hour. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares, and Erin exemplifies that.
She crafted my drink perfectly—sparkling water with lime and plenty of cherries—while simultaneously managing a busy bar. There were six other clients to attend to, and she handled everything with impressive efficiency, all while keeping a warm smile on her face. I couldn’t help but notice the African American gentleman across from me, who seemed to be struggling to get the attention of a woman nearby. Despite the chaos of a packed bar filled with conference attendees, Erin remained composed and attentive to everyone’s needs.
Her ability to juggle multiple tasks, including cleaning and closing out tabs, showcased her incredible skill. It felt like she knew everyone personally, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made my experience even more enjoyable.
Erin, I want you to know that you’re doing an outstanding job. Your professionalism and charm truly set you apart. Without a doubt, you are one of the best bartenders in Washington, D.C. Boom, there I said it!
As a service industry professional, no matter the circumstances, the service level was absolutely beyond the pale and unacceptable. It was not busy, there was adequate staff and there was no reason why staff should be so unprofessional on the floor. The atmosphere would have been greatly improved by higher quality choices in staffing.
Needless to say, we will not be back
We ordered the seafood linguine | chicken noodles | steamed mussel at 7:35 pm. Not only did the food come 40+ minutes later at 8:20, the food also came overcooked where the texture of the linguine and the chicken noodles tasted like melted cheese in your mouth (as shown in picture), and the steamed mussels and the garlic bread tasted cold and chewy to the point that was inedible. Our guess for the absurd experience was that the food was just sitting in the kitchen for the entire time, but this is unacceptable for a meal in this class.
