I recently went to eat at Lady Gold Tacos. If you’re hoping for an authentic meal, this is not the place. I ordered the tacos that come with the pork adobo and a side of rice and beans. The pork adobo was actually pretty good and could only maybe use a little more salt. The tortillas are store-bought and ripped before I could lift the tacos so I don’t know if they’re being cooked properly. The side of rice and beans was not good. The rice was mushy and the beans were dry. They both tasted precooked and canned, respectively. There is an option to order individual tacos at over $4 per taco, which is not worth the price.
The atmosphere I did enjoy. The bartenders are kind and the vibe is good. I left in the end because it started smelling like urine inside, so not sure what problem is going on.
I may return to try their drink menu, and perhaps try another menu item. Once whatever issue is causing the urine smell is fixed, of course.

Taco place is located inside of a bar. Simple menu. Straightforward pricing. Delicious! My only caveat is that there is a tonnnn of rice on the side for some dishes. Thought it was interesting other dishes have Fritos as their side. About a 15 minute wait for two dishes, I think.

Literally my new favorite food place in Durham. Pure ghetto-grunge-casual goodness. First time I went I got the two taco plate with Birria beef for $10 (all plates are $10) and a shot of whiskey for $7. I watched something like cannonball run on the backdrop of the bar and thought I had died and straight up gone to heaven.
Second time I got an even better item, the Birria beef burrito, served with Fritos corn chips. Good lord. This was like an even bigger bite out of heaven, topping the first $10 plate I tried.
Still haven’t tried the breakfast options but can only believe they will be next level as well.

Not quite a hole in the wall but i love it. Good drinks, simple menu, and a cool atmosphere. Nachos were on point. Rice bowl was good, frito bowl was good, and loved the tacos. Will be back.price was not bad either. Good small place to chill at night.

This is an awesome food cart located in front of Remedy Room. Amazing breakfast tacos. Some tips: If you want to order ahead, search Remedy Room and click “order online” to get to their Toast site. They keep their Instagram updated if they close for rain, so check there if the weather is questionable.

A little annoyed. Website says they’re open for breakfast on Fridays and Saturdays but I guess they aren’t. The open sign is even lit but doors are locked and nobody answers the phone. Looks like I made the trip for nothing.

Elevated food for 10$ in 2024? Vegetarian friendly too? Let’s gooo. Amazing atmosphere, thoughtful cocktails and super friendly bar staff. An absolute must visit in downtown Durham.

This place is amazing. We stopped in here on a whim on a Monday night while passing through Durham on a road trip. We had a very hungry toddler with us and needed to feed him quickly. Even though this is a bar the staff here were incredible. They went above and beyond to welcome us and help us feed the kiddo quickly. No one minded when he ran around the space a bit, and when the food came he scarfed down every bite. And so did we! The food tasted incredible. If we’re ever back through the area this place will be on our list!

Food was very fresh and good! Everything was $10 off the menu when I went. Would recommend for a Saturday late dinner and chill!

There is finally some good real weekday breakfast again in downtown. Sometimes you need more than just a pastry for breakfast, and bagels get old quick. The migas tacos were so good and their salsas were perfect for them.
