Review of La’Caj Seafood in Camp Springs, Maryland – Facebook

My first experience was subpar, it took over an hour to get two appetizers. It was super busy but the kitchen seemed to not be keeping up.

We had a great experience at La’Caj Seafood. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and comfortable. It’s a great spot for a quick date night, a girls’ meet-up, or even catching the game.

Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and everything came out at a nice pace.

The food was full of flavor and clearly made with care. The Cajun butter lamb chops were a standout, and the fried red snapper was crisp, well seasoned, and fresh. The appetizers, sides, and Southern Peach cocktail were all solid,

Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back.

This was my third visit to La’Caj and this experience was a bit of a mixed bag.
We missed brunch, so I ordered the creamy Cajun chicken pasta with lemon garlic cream. The pasta itself is $11, but adding chicken was an additional $10.50, which was not listed on the menu. I expected an upcharge, but that amount caught me off guard. The dish was also on the dry side, so I requested extra sauce. Bread or toast would have been a great addition.
My friend ordered the Seafood Orleans, which is fried catfish smothered in crawfish étouffée, and she said it was amazing.
The spiked Kool Aid was refreshing and strong without being overly sweet and was one of the highlights of the night. We considered sharing the La’Caj Purse drink, but it was much smaller than expected for the price, so we canceled.
Dessert was disappointing. I skipped the tres leches cake after seeing another patron’s slice that looked nothing like the menu photo. I ordered the deep fried strawberry biscuits instead. The biscuits were good but dry, and my plate looked far less appealing than the same dessert served to another table.
On a positive note, I appreciated seeing the manager comp a guest with a complimentary drink after a long wait. Accountability matters.
The staff was friendly but clearly overwhelmed. The restroom needed attention and was missing basic supplies. We even ended up signing the receipt with a hotel pen.
I have really enjoyed La’Caj in the past and hope this was just an off night. Please consider bringing back the fried cheesecake. It was one of the best desserts I have had here.

Didn’t disappoint! Grabbed a quick bite to eat with one of my friends. Ate at the bar, which had a wonderful bar staff. My friend wanted to watch a specific football game and they met his request with no pushback.

Now to me, the menu items are different but nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered the La Casita Carne Asada and Eggs, basically steak and eggs. It was a great entree and definitely a repeatable contender for when I come back. Steak was tender and flavored just right. The eggs were cooked exactly how I asked.

My friend and I did share the Fried Chicken Taquitos. They were good but I wouldn’t get them again.

Overall, this place reminds me of an ol’ reliable and casual restaurant for when you just want to grab something with some friends. Not too packed, not too loud, attentive and friendly staff, and good food.

Great atmosphere. Food was excellent the menu was easy to read and understand. They didn’t have coffee. As we was leaving they was starting karaoke.

I visited from out of town, looking for a good brunch spot. The fried crab legs were very tasty. It was pretty pricey but worth it for the amount of food served. I had a good experience overall and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I was invited for a birthday brunch and honestly the group was large and a bit unorganized for a restaurant of this size. Surprisingly, the food was hot; not a long wait to be seated; the staff remained present; and the DJ was awesome! Thank you for accommodating a crew of rowdy visitors.

I went to preview the new menu at La’Caj and OMG … everything we tried was delicious . I love spicy food and flavor and these dishes delivered!! It’s a large and wonderful space with an inside/outside bar (there were hosting a paint and sip outside while we were there that looked like so much fun, everyone left laughing!!) I will definitely be going back again!!

I went on a Saturday late afternoon. I found the restaurant to be Festive, good food (especially liked the shrimp/crayfish Nachos and hot honey old bay chicken wings). They had a DJ and later a live band in the outside heated area. Service was good.

Used to love coming here. Recently I noticed they are up charging everything on the bill and now charging extra to pay with card. For example happy hour drink is 5 dollars, the bill states 5.15. These little changes add up on bills and should be mentioned. This needs to be advertised throughout the restaurant.
Also I advise against the steak butter bites. My least favorite food item in a while.
