Being fully aware of the founder’s reputation, my expectations were high, and were easily met! The atmosphere immediately draws you in, revealing an immersive hidden gem tucked behind its glamorous, lounge-style entry. The service reflects an elegant yet modern approach that aligns beautifully with the restaurant’s overall aesthetic. The food, as expected, was thoughtful and well-presented. However, I was slightly surprised by the limited depth of flavor in the Truffle Gnocchi and the light sear on the accompanying scallops. Even so, these were minor notes in an otherwise exceptional experience. Overall, this establishment remains a standout and a necessary complement to the upscale environment of the Grand Hyatt.

Great service. Nice atmosphere. But I gave only 3 stars because I got a really bad stomach ache from the food. Ordered the chicken Parmesan that tasted good. But within an hour I had terrible cramps and heartburn that lasted for 24 hours. I took THREE Prilosecs over the 24 hour period and Pepto Bismol. I have never had such horrible heartburn in my life. The cramps weren’t fun either.

For the price. The chicken parm wasn’t any better than North Italia for half the price. The portion was outrageously big. Why not add some
Pasta or a nice side versus such an insanely huge portion of chicken. I ate half. Took the other half home but threw away after I got sick.

I had been 3 times for dinner here and loved so many things so I planned my 50th birthday/mock funeral at La Zozzona on 4.25.25. I’m honored to be the 1st restaurant buyout and I’d do it every year! Hats off to the Chef, JR Walter, who put together the most perfect menu for my 70 guests with so much variety and deliciousness! Everyone had a different favorite from crispy squash blossoms, the bestest meatballs, mozzarella sticks, and the newest item on the menu…hamachi crudo. We selected the signature rigatoni and agnolotti as the pastas and the entrees were swordfish chop, chicken marsala, dry aged NY strip and bone in veal parmigiana. There were also tomahawk steaks served for couples and maybe I got an entire one to myself . We finished out with tiramisu which was magnificent. I’d really like to thank Zach, the General Manager who was instrumental in putting this evening together as he saw my vision and executed it with the help of Julia, Ben and all the servers who did a fantastic job! Thank you La Zozzona for going above and beyond and catering to my every request. You even customized the menus and put the Corpse Reviver #2 drink as a featured drink for my themed party. This was truly one of the best nights of my life and all my guests rate the food, service, ambience and wine/cocktails as some of the best they’ve ever experienced! My goal is to be your favorite diner so I will be back agoan and again! Thank you Chef Richard Blais for opening in Scottsdale and autographing my custom menus for my guests. Forever keepsakes and also thanks for all the photos I keep asking you to take with me. Biggest fan!

My partner and I chose La Zozzona at the Grand Hyatt to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary because our first date was at Richard Blais’s Juniper and Ivy in San Diego. We were excited to mark the occasion at another one of his restaurants. Unfortunately, our visit did not meet expectations of a resturant of “fine dining” caliber.

Our reservation was at 6:45pm, and we were seated around 6:55pm, which was perfectly fine. However, we weren’t offered water or drinks until about 7:25pm. Guadalupe, a food runner/helper, apologized for the delay and offered us Prosecco while we waited. She explained that our server, Paul, was running behind and would be with us shortly.

After another 15–20 minutes (during which we received a bread basket), Guadalupe returned to apologize again and let us know Paul had asked her to take our order. While she was very kind and clearly doing her best, she did not seem fully prepared to guide us through the menu or explain the dishes and specials, which is something we typically expect at a restaurant.

We specifically came to try the $200 Tomahawk steak, but we were not asked how we would like it cooked. When it arrived, it was unfortunately cold and did not feel reflective of the price point.

The restaurant was about half full during our visit, and from our corner table we could see much of the dining room activity. We did not meet Paul until approximately 7:45pm—nearly an hour after being seated. During that time, we observed him actively engaging with surrounding tables. Even a brief early introduction or acknowledgment would have gone a long way in making us feel welcomed and cared for – we felt completely ignored and Paul did not take any accoutabilty for the delay. I presumed he assumed sending over Gaudelupe in his place would suffice? Or was it that we were 2 gays celebrating our anniversary? – hard to tell.

Because of the overall service experience, we decided not to explore any of the specialty gin offerings we had been looking forward to trying.

To make matters worse, our card was accidentally double charged at the end of the meal, which we had to point out and have corrected. Paul did not catch his mistake until we pointed it out and showed our card charges.

We truly wanted this dinner to be a highlight of our anniversary. – the dining experience itself was disappointing.

We do want to acknowledge Guadalupe for her professionalism and attentiveness—she consistently checked on our water and offered sincere apologies throughout the evening

Had a wonderful experience. The restaurant was beautiful and the service was incredible. The food was outstanding. The hamachi and the Parmesan tarts were delicious. The tiramisu was really delicious and served in a very fun way. The staff was knowledgable and just the right amount of attentive while giving us plenty of space to enjoy our evening. We also got to meet chef Richard Blais which was such an incredible experience. He was so down to earth and really warm and inviting. Highly recommend for a romantic date night or a fun girls dinner.

Magnificent experience! I cannot thank La Zozonna enough in helping to make daughter’s birthday special. We could not have had a better meal or service. Simply outstanding. Every year my daughter gets one special and unique gift in the evening. Seeing as we love to cook and follow all the cooking shows, it was a Oscar the Grouch, H&B apron. Chef JR was kind enough to sign it, making it even more special. ❤️ Thank you a million times for a wonderful experience.

Amazing! 10 out of 10. From the start to finish. The drink and wine selection were top notch. Followed by killer appetizers. Meat balls were some of the best. Our main entrees were the sword fish and veal and both were incredible. The tiramisu was so smooth. My plate was clean!

We were so excited to try food from Chef Richard Blaise and it did not disappoint. Every detail was handled and we received excellent service from Paul and Lorenzo. We started with the squash blossoms which were delicious, next pesto burrata, beet salad, then shared the Cavatelli with tons of shaved black truffle and the honeynutt squash angolotti. Phenomenal! Ending with a fun sundae for a birthday and we had try try the Tiramisu served table side and was just melt in your mouth delicious! This restaurant is a must try!

We went there for our anniversary with our two small kids and they were so nice and accommodating! We had the tuna tartare (so good), the burrata with olive oil (ask for extra bread), the cauliflower, the bone marrow, the spicy pasta, steak and they made a special pasta with red sauce for our kid. The wait staff was top notch and they really provide an elevated dining experience. They have a cool private room if you have a larger party that looked really fun because it’s a big round table.

It is one of the best Italian restaurants in town. Everything is homemade down to the pasta-which is the best sign of a great Italian restaurant. This is a fabulous place for a date night, business meeting or small party. My preference is to sit on the patio for the outdoor atmosphere (Greta landscaping). The hamachi crudo is incredible but my favorite thing is the tiramisu. They serve it as it your nonna would-right out of the dish which keeps it moist and delish. Can’t recommend enough!
