4 Stars – A Very Different Dining Experience… Come for the Food!

La Vita offers a truly one of a kind experience, but let me be clear, come for the food. The restaurant has been around for over 30 years and operates strictly by reservation. You’ll need to call ahead, check availability, and even choose your meal in advance, as everything is made to order with fresh ingredients sourced the same day.

The space is small and unpretentious, just four tables and one small two-top near the door. It’s more like dining in someone’s home than a traditional restaurant. You’ll actually see the kitchen as soon as you walk in. The vibe is no frills, and the staff (including owner Rosie and our server Lisa) are very straightforward, some might even say brusque, so it helps to come in with thick skin and a laid back attitude.

That said, the food is absolutely worth it. Every dish our party of four had, from appetizers to entrées, was outstanding. If you focus on the quality of the meal and not the ambience or service style, you’ll likely walk away impressed.

It’s not a five star experience due to the overall atmosphere and tone of service, but the quality of the food and the very reasonable prices does earn La Vita’s four stars.

Took my mom for her 82nd birthday and had a great time.you have to call for reservations and if you have a large group we ha 11 plan on 3 hours. It’s just like eating at home but without the cleanup.
We had 3 entrees and upgraded to to meat sauce since that is moms favorite so it was around 40 per person but definitely worth it!
We will be back!

This place is phenomenal. I love homemade Italian food so this was exactly for me. It’s like your grandma is cooking for you. Be realistic, don’t expect a huge menu on a Monday, we order the specials and tiramisu-everything was to die for. We will return. Loved everything.

The food is spectacular and homemade with authentic Italian recipes. We got chicken piccata, eggplant parmesan and DELCIOUS handmade fresh pasta cheese raviolis that were the best we ever had. Everyone at our party thought it was all delicious. They work very hard to provide fresh pasta that is a treasure! We rented the room with the very interesting pictures of Italy all throughout it. They helped make our little family reunion special. Thank you Roseanne and Lisa.

Had pleasure of eating here for first time. Rosanne and staff are greatest. Dinner for 11 and nothing disappointed. From the salad to the chicken Cappellini and meatballs and pasta. Can’t say enough about how fresh everything tasted. Thank you Marty Flaherty and Lori for inviting us.

La Vita’s in Greensburg is 1 of the BEST homemade Italian restaurants in Pennsylvania ‼️ I’m Italian & have lived in Pittsburgh & Philadelphia & I’ve eaten at a lot of restaurants & grew up on Italian cooking. LaVita’s is a very casual (& small) BYOB with top quality Italian homemade dishes. The mixed pepper (sweet & hot) side dish topped with cheese is an awesome appetizer & their pasta sauce is excellent ‼️

The food was good and apparently homemade, but probably not worth going back due to the experience you have to endure when dining in at the restaurant. The two old italian ladies that work here made it feel like we were inconveniencing them by coming in to eat, even though they only had ONE other table. Definitely not a very enjoyable atmosphere. If you hate cooking and serving people then why are you still in the restaurant business ? Not classy at all… Our favorite part of the meal was the bread.

The place is a hidden jem. We had a family style meal with family and friends. The meal started with a great salad and then homemade ravioli followed by spaghetti and finished it off with the best chicken piccata ever. The service was absolutely amazing. Love this place! We’ll be back

Great food and atmosphere!!

Since everything is cooked fresh and to order, reservations are necessary. It was our first time, so unaware of this policy we just showed up! However, they very kindly welcomed us with open arms.

There is a very small dining room with a delightfully homey feel. Other regulars shared their food with us and we participated in singing a stranger Happy Birthday.

If you want to feel like you’re eating with family at your grandma’s house for Sunday dinner, do stop by this amazingly unique little gem.

In summary:

1. Make reservations
2. BRING CASH
3. Have fun chatting with other customers
4. Enjoy delicious homemade food

(Also, you can bring your own wine )
