Loved everything about Villa Laetitia. In fact we loved it so much that we went twice in the week we spent in Bergerac.
My wife is a vegetarian, and a fussy one. They catered brilliantly for her each time.
The restaurant is beautiful. The service is fantastic. The food is absolutely stunning. Stand out for us were ravioli, the lamb, the desserts! Loved the wine.
I think we will miss this restaurant most when we leave.
I must add that the times listed on google are wrong, it was open when google listed it as not.
Also, we felt very welcome, and we’re not French! So I’m not sure what those reviews refer to.
Go here, you’ll be glad you did.

First time with our 4 guests. Not impressed !Calamari and Risotto starters were disappointing and expensive. The fish was excellent and duck enjoyable but steaks weren’t great. Coffee very good. Service whilst polite was a bit slow. Not up to the prices charged. Not an experience to repeat unfortunately.

Most dishes excellent. The risotto au cepes was sadly bland. We waited much too long for the food and the service is friendly, but unprofessional. Atmosphere lovely. I can reccomend spending dinner here

I note the negative reviews but honestly this was an utterly brilliant meal and the cafe gourmand was the best I have ever had anywhere in the world. The staff were perfectly nice. The setting was beautiful. The entrecote was tender and delicious and perfectly seasoned. Watching the chef working in the kitchen, he certainly knew his onions. I would go back here any day of the week. But by all means go and blow your money somewhere less good if you want. It means there will be a table available for me!

**do not come here if you are not from France*

Straight away the staff were very dismissive and rude to us, but pleasent to others (most likely because we weren’t locals).

Dinner itself started off pleasant enough. The beef carpacio and mushroom risotto starters were nice.

The tuna was okay, a little bland. The steak was asked to be cooked medium rare but was served blue (barley cooked) so we asked for it to be cooked more. This was met with the staff being visabley annoyed. The chef bought the “re-cooked” steak out and watched whilst we started to eat. The steak was still undercooked in most parts and alot of it was left at the end. This left us physically sick and threw up in the bathroom. The staff were informed of this and were dismissive and rude about it. Refused to apologise for it and blamed us for being sick prior to eating, which we were not. We were told multiple times that the steak was cooked correctly, and that the steak was cooked to a “french” medium rare. We have travelled to France many times and have never had a steak served blue. After this the staff kept staring and giving dirty looks to us, even as we were leaving the restaurant.

Made a special effort to go in the afternoon to book a table for the evening. They looked totally disinterested at the time, didn’t write anything down and did not fill us with confidence that the evening would go well. Needless to say, when we got there, we were told that they were full and when I tried to explain we had booked a table, he couldn’t have cared less.
