An amazing find, if you are in La Mans you must visit this restaurant. The staff are super friendly, the service is excellent and the food is outstanding. Lots of little extras thrown in. Excellent value. Probably best to book to avoid disappointment

The staff is kind and attentive and they manage to keep the service smooth even when the restaurant gets busy. Their recommendations are helpful and they take the time to explain the dishes with a genuine smile which adds a very personal touch to the experience.
The food is delicious and clearly prepared with care. The flavors are well balanced and the ingredients taste fresh. The menu is not extremely large but every option feels thoughtful and nicely executed. Portions are fair and the presentation shows attention to detail. The dessert selection is also very satisfying and finishes the meal on a high note.
If I had to mention one thing, the seating area can feel slightly tight at peak hours so booking ahead is definitely a good idea.

Visited here yesterday. Amazing restaurant, loved the food, very authentic french food. Just perfect. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Had lovely complimentary bread and cheese to welcome us. All finished off perfectly with a lovely complimentary cherry liqueur digestif. Also, the mashed potatoes were out of this world amazing.

Great place, we have been stopping off here and going to Le Vieille Porte for many years now, consistent friendly, efficient staff and excellent food, delivered in an expected time even when they are flying around with a packed house, dealing with the many ‘walk ins’ as well. The menu is fairly simple, all good and with something for all. We are there on Fridays, always a day when you need to book. If you don’t think your French is up to it knock on the door if there is someone there before 7pm and they will take a booking. Turn up at 7pm and you will probably be too late unless happy to come back later. We are 60+, 2 starters, 2 mains, both then had cheese and all with a carafe of house wine and left very happy. 68 Euros plus a well earned tip makes it very affordable.

Lovely, atmospheric bistrot with friendly and personable staff; food (lots of choice within the “set” menus, although you can eat à la carte) absolutely delicious and not overpriced. On the back of our first (evening) visit, we made a lunchtime booking. Deservedly popular, so advisable to book, but they did accommodate some without bookings while we were there; but you take a risk. A bit of a “find” for us, as short-term visitors to Le Mans.
