The food here was incredible! Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor. While the wait for our food was a bit longer than expected, it was absolutely worth it. The French onion soup was outstanding—so rich and flavorful, it felt like a taste of Paris. Just like eating at Montmartre! The salad, cheese and spinach ravioli, and Cajun chicken sandwich were all equally delicious. I highly recommend this place, but just be sure to bring some patience and time for the experience. Worth every minute!

Incredible establishment with the kindest employees & the hardest working chef in Silver City. I have yet to order anything here that I didnt like. Ever changing menus for special occasions and a soup of the day I’m always excited to be suprised by. The rack of lamb and ravioli were cooked to perfection and plated beautifully.

10/10 would recommend
La Vie gets busy so I do recommend a call ahead reservation but they are not required.

This restaurant was surprisingly bad. Let me start with the positive: The lady that served our table was very friendly and there’s nothing she could’ve done better. She is the reason I am not giving this place a lower score for “Service”.

The problem is, simply, that the food took forever to come, and it wasn’t even good.

I know the stereotype that French cuisine takes very long, and I was prepared for a long wait. But as the restaurant was mostly empty, I think a 90 min wait is just really excessive, and at the end, you’d expect a meal that actually tastes good, wouldn’t you? My wife ordered the salmon pasta. In all honesty, it was “meh”, and no better than the pasta that anyone can make at home. My wife has a salmon pasta recipe I found online that she uses sometimes when she just wants to put something together quickly, and it is significantly better than what we got.

My meal was worse. I ordered a steak. My steak was small, and honestly just not very tasty. The flavor combinations were weird, and just not at all pleasant. There was just a tiny handful of veggies, the sauce didn’t really go well with the meat, and it was just not good at all. Nor did it look like a thing that would take a lot of skill to do better at home.

Considering that this is also a fairly expensive and mostly empty restaurant, I was expecting to get a meal in less than an hour and that the meal would be better than what any random person could make at home on any given weekday.

Lovely place, definitely a French atmosphere. It was raining and the door was open, just felt so comfortable. Could have done without the jazz music, but that’s just me. We had the onion soup which was utterly divine with lots of cheese in it. I had a salad that had the best basalmic drizzle on it, so fresh, and large slivers of parmesan. My BFF had the beef sandwich and said it was delightful. Excellent prices for the quality, I would absolutely come back (was on a road trip). Disabled people, please note you must walk from further down the block on the sidewalk, as the few little stairs out front are really tall, but there’s a handrail. It was doable slowly with a cane.

Seriously, the most delicious food in town and the atmosphere is absolutely lovely. The chef is delightful and the over all the vibe is warm and welcoming. By the time we left, we had met everyone in the restaurant!
Definitely plan on having more amazing meals here.

A charming and delicious bistro. The chef/owner is warm and welcoming.

I have been to France and La Vie Est Un Bistro is what I wanted the Parisian Bistros to be like – homey and friendly and family owned.

The lamb was delicious and soft like butter.

Plan on European service. Which means the meal will take longer than going to Applebee’s.
