We moved to Ajijic from Savannah, GA about six weeks ago. Patisserie Français is around the corner from our new home. We can smell the fresh baked breads, croissants and pastries every morning. It’s way too tempting. The owners and staff are friendly and very helpful. Everything is too delicious! We’re going to our friends home for Comida this afternoon and promised to bring dessert, so I purchased 2 Lemon Tarts, 2 Raspberry Tarts, 2 Almond Tarts and 2 Napoleons. I also picked up a fresh baked seeded baguette still warm from the oven to accompany today’s Comida, (but we ate the croissants with our coffee this morning). Be sure to get there early for the best selections. Lines may start to form after 8 AM and then you may have to wrestle someone for your favorite pastry…

The best french style bakery around. Everything is made the same day and you can taste the butter between the laminated dough’s layers. The eclair, the almond croissant, and the cinnamon roll are a must.

Fantastic food. Great little place. I had not been aware of this place in my previous trips to Ajijic, but it will direct be a part of my future trips. The food was incredible. The staff was very friendly and were so helpful for this non Spanish speaking patron.

I enjoyed an almond and a plain croissant. The gentleman at the counter was personable! Next time I’ll have a coffee as well.

What a lovely way to start the day… good coffee, delicious pastries and quiche, sweet service, in a lovely patio.
Update: we come here regularly now. Have recently discovered their cinnamon rolls… oh my, the best I’ve ever had without the overkill cream cheese frosting. Fabulous delicately sweet pastry, plenty of cinnamon and raisins.

The food is pretty good, the croissants are usually consistent. I gave a 2 star for atmosphere because there is a big sloppy French guy there daily, owner or manager and he is SO LOUD and screams about politics, his face looks enraged, it REALLY takes away from the atmosphere when you can can’t talk. I understand French 100% so nothing against the language but HE needs to be put away. Everyone else is professional.

Best croissants in the area. Juan is a terrific waiter. Café au lait and a warm croissant is simply Heaven.
