La Victoria Taqueria

After traveling from Texas to Los Angeles to see my kids, I drove to San Jose for a business meeting. On the way back home to Los Angeles, we stopped at a restaurant and ordered food. I was very impressed, the food was really good. It was much better than what I had in Texas. I checked the reviews and most of them were bad. It didn’t matter, the food was excellent. My kid and her friend also said it was yummy.

I’ve been going to La Victoria’s for years. The food quality is always great and everything is delicious, however the portions have downsized a lot while the prices have shot up. This is the case with most restaurants in the area, but I feel like it has been a bit more extreme with La Victoria’s.

Still, I can’t resist coming and eating here because of their orange sauce! It’s always so good, and the food is hot and fresh regardless of what you order.

The only Mexican Resturaunt that I’ve been to with the strangest salsa rules of all time:

You can have a second salsa with your chips but AFTER you eat your first one (which is understandable because I’m sure people waste salsa), but if they don’t like you they will change their mind and they won’t end up giving it to you. But when you say you will buy the second salsa, they won’t sell it to you, they will only sell you the small togo plastic container for $2 or the oversized large togo plastic container for $7.

Tbh this Resturaunt can get away with this illogical nonsense because the food is so good. I wonder if these penny pinching no logic change mind tactics will pay off in the long run. They have 5 or 6 locations so I’m sure this is working for them.

My wife and I stopped in for a bite, traveling back from San Francisco.
To los angeles.

The cost of the meals were forty bucks. The three enchilada plate had no flavor and the beans were runny and the rice wasn’t very good at either.

I had a super burrito, but I had no guacamole or sour cream in there and the meat was overcooked.

I had to go back in line to buy chips. Because they did not mention that you had to pay for them. They looked like they were Tostidos right out of the bag and the salsa was watery.

I will not return.

Good quick bite place and open odd hours so we often pick food here.

Veggie quesadillas is our favorite, don’t miss the famous spicy orange sauce

Veggie burritos are also fine.

Good serving size.

It’s great to have a place to hang out late at night. There’s so many few choices to eat after 10 PM. I’m glad this one stays open until midnight. Delicious Mexican food worth staying up for!

My favourite place when ever I’m in town. I will always crave La Vics. Typicallly go for a burrito or quesadilla, everything here is good. The orange sauce is like no other.

Food is always great! Always buy a couple bottles of the orange sauce while I’m there. The workers aren’t the nicest or super helpful if you need anything, but I’ve never had a bad meal here

Came by on a Sunday night.

We ordered a chicken flautas and a super steak burrito. Food was good and came out pretty fast.

La Vic’s (of course) is known for the orange sauce. I haven’t had it in awhile. Forgot how spicy it was, so be careful haha.

Definitely want to try one of their quesadillas in the near future!

Easy parking in the plaza.

Well, looks like hard times has hit La Vics. Ordered 3 tacos and a quesadilla, apparently you only get half a sauce per item, which means they were only going to give 2. I think she gave me some mercy by throwing in a third. If this keeps up they’re going to lose a 20 plus year customer.
