Started with Mushroom Gratin ($17) which was loaded with mushrooms, cheese and deliciously seasoned with balsamic. The highlight were the roasted artichokes ($18) that were served nice and hot and the texture was perfect. Seven Fish ($75) included a calamari salad, Crab soup (lovely sherry flavored), pasta with clams and mussels and a beautiful piece of sea bass. The downside to this visit was the barstaff. They were busy for a good hour but their conversations about the owner/manager’s decision to continue seating people was disappointing. The one bartender’s complaining about owner/manager being “selfish” and “greedy” made for an uncomfortable situation. Felt reluctant to ask for anything (more water, more wine, salt/pepper, dessert menu – hard to flag down) until it became less busy. They were not the most friendly to those seated around us either. Who wants to feel burdonsome on Christmas Eve? If you go, the food is good but try for a time when they are not in the weeds, so to speak.

1st time here, wanted a cozy, more intimate setting& didn’t dissapoint; done in beautiful blues, fireplace, softer lighting. Service terrific, Our server, ” Lolou?” Couldn’t have been better. I had the bronzino with risotto& perfectly cooked veggies, excellent piece of fish! My husband had the veal marsala, which he said was equally delicious. Bronzino had a flavorful rue, topped with capers.

We went on Christmas Eve when the restaurant was overwhelmed with reservations. They were very courteous on getting us seated and handling our order promptly. The wine list is average with a short list of American and Italian wines.

This is a great stop before or after Longwood Gardens!

My parents raved about the friendly service and GF mushroom soup and they were so right. The soup is a must for all mushroom lovers! I got a special with langoustines and it was fantastic. I also appreciated how much of the menu could be made gluten free for my dad.

Must stop here. If I could give a higher rating than 5 stars I would. Lovely relaxed atmosphere enhanced by very comfortable seating. Tables not all crowded together. Able to accommodate many body styles and mobility needs. Some great vegetarian options. The tricolor pasta with muscles, shrimp and salmon was the best meal I’ve had in many years. #ada #access #holman #shrimp #pasta #burgers #martini #service #charm

The most fabulous restaurant in Kennett Square by far! The host seated our party of 5 immediately, we were greeted by Chelsea who was absolutely wonderful! Food is authentic Italian and delicious, service is above and beyond. Totally delightful experience! Highly recommended

Pasta dishes were delicious and great portions. Scallop dish was extremely small portion for $40. I got 4 scallops, a small scoop of risotto and broccoli. It looked more like a child’s dinner. Waiter was average at best. He didn’t bring us enough bread for our party and we had to ask for more. He took our drink order first but didn’t bring us menus until after he delivered drinks. Our dishes came out a couple at a time and with our large party of 13, that was annoying. We were put in a back room and basically felt like an after note. Everytime we needed something, we had to go search it out. So they added 20 percent for the large party and I felt like we got 10 percent worth of service. I truly believe he was overburdened that night and should have had help with wait staff. That’s too bad …

This place deserves more than 5 stars for food and service! I went with my family of 5. We made a reservation on Open Table about 2 hours before our seating time. My picky eater said the Caesar salad was the best she’d ever eaten. My veal saltimbocca was different than all the other times I’ve eaten that dish, and La Verona’s is the best I’ve had. My family also enjoyed the fried mozzarella, kids spaghetti, and veal parm. We all thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate!
The only thing better than the food was the service. I wish I remembered our servers name but he was an older gentleman that was so attentive to our needs- even on a Saturday night! We will be returning soon!

The only highlight of the meal was the bread, soft and warm.

Besides that, nothing was cooked right.

Drinks are heavily watered down, it has no taste.

Calamari is so soggy, it feels like the packaged microwave ones we got from grocery store.

Chicken parm we got, it’s over cooked, the chicken is so hard and cheese is burnt. It feels like the chicken was pre-cooked and reheated.

The peso pasta, it’s so greasy, I feel like I’m drinking oil almost. And it got me so sick the next day.

Do not recommend.

La Verona offers good Italian food, but I found it to be slightly overpriced, especially considering the competition in the area. If you’re ordering pasta, make sure it says “housemade” on the menu—there’s a noticeable difference in quality. The non-housemade pasta just doesn’t compare.

Given the abundance of Italian restaurants nearby, La Verona doesn’t really have anything that makes it stand out, particularly since other places offer better prices.

We opted to sit outside because the setting was very pretty, but I ended up with a few mosquito bites. It would be nice if they invested in some mosquito repellent or plants that naturally deter them. Another downside to the outdoor seating was the large billboard on the side of the building where we were sitting. It felt like ads were being shoved in my face while I was trying to enjoy my meal, though I’m not sure if that’s the restaurant’s fault or the building owner’s.

On a positive note, the service was great. My husband really enjoyed his dessert, but I was disappointed with my cannoli. When I bit into it, I found the middle was empty, which was a letdown considering their dessert prices.

Overall, I’d recommend trying some of the other Italian places around before returning, but I did really enjoy my Pappardelle Bolognese.
