Stop scrolling and just go to La Vera. Definitely a gem in Croydon. Their specialty pizzas are top-notch and have tried most of them, the burgers are doubled and they are juicy and cooked to perfection, and the salads are actually a meal, not an afterthought. I’ve been going here for years easily my favorite spot for a reason. Get there before everyone else figures out how good this place is!

We get our food delivered. The food is hot and amazing. The Sicilian pizza is the best that I’ve had. The special pasta dishes are our favorite. I can’t rate the inside restaurant or staff because we call for our orders to be delivered. Last thought, the expected delivery time has been right on.

Where do I start? You walk into the restaurant and you can see your breath. The staff stated that it is difficult to regulate the temperature because the door continues to open and close. It is hard to understand that methodology as when you enter the restaurant you walk through a vestibule before entering the main area. This tells me that they did not have the heat on. We proceeded to order our meal, “personal breakfast pizza”, chicken soup, toasted ravioli, and cheese garlic bread. As we waited at our table, the owner’s son was sitting to our left, playing a game on his phone so loud that I could not hear the people at my table. I knew this was the owner’s son as he brought out food for him indicated to other patrons who the child was.
Our food came out together, which should be expected. The breakfast pizza was soggy which tells me they had cooked the pizza with one of the toppings (ham, bacon, sausage) frozen. The eggs looked like they were cooked separately and then placed on the pizza towards the end of the cooking process, which made the pizza look horrible (See picture) This is NOT how breakfast pizza is cooked. The raw egg is placed on the pizza with the other ingredients during prepping and cooked at the same time. The Toasted ravioli, had zero filling (See pictures). They were super small and not worth the money. The chicken soup had zero flavor and the garlic bread was a hoagie roll toasted with garlic butter and very little cheese.
With the restaurant as cold as it was outside (35 degrees) and the poor quality of the food with a price tag of $38.00, La Vera Pizza was not worth it.

La Vera pizzeria is the best in this area they are very friendly inside but the important thing is I’m from Long Island and this is the closest Long Island Pizza that I have had and that’s a big compliment.

The claim “seen on ABC” on the box is laughable. Two cheese pies for $28 that were burnt, barely had a crust, and were mushy as hell between the crust and cheese? That’s not just disappointing—it’s an insult to pizza lovers everywhere. Your so-called pizza was a culinary disaster. Seriously, reconsider your line of business. It’s clear you have no clue what you’re doing.

Great service from a very friendly staff to start with. Delicious, perfectly done food, with generous portions. One of the only places left that still has reasonable prices. All of that added together equal perfection.
