I’m from New Orleans and I know fine dining. This place defines it. Beautiful dining room. Classic French Cuisine, with a Mediterranean twist. Impeccable service. Well thought out wine list. Perfect martinis. But now? They’ve outdone themselves. Like I said I’m from NOLA, but I don’t like creme brûlée. Sorry I just don’t. Someone at my table ordered it. My jaw dropped. I tried it. I still don’t like it, I LOVE IT. This is a must try, it redefines a classic in the best way. I’ll not describe it, I’m not spoiling it for you. Try it, you’ll see what I mean. La Truffe is perfect from start to finish. They even let me make my own French 75’s. Thanks for everything y’all. See ya soon.

Overall lovely. Bread does not live up to the standards. Service was outstanding. Ambience was subtle- calm. Most of them were in suites- not us. I must say- old fashion ed falls short by long way. Apperol tasted much better. I believe the catch of the day was cooked to perfection. Desserts were also great.

We extended our stay to celebrate our anniversary at this fantastic restaurant, and it was worth it! The atmosphere, service, and food were exceptional. From the French 75 with St. Germain foam to a Bourbon Old Fashioned, each drink impressed. The Traditional Steak Tartare with truffle chips was a perfect starter, followed by delicious Pan Roasted Red Snapper and Crabmeat Mary Louise—both paired perfectly with a Vinafore Chardonnay. Ending with a light Berry Soufflé made for a memorable night. Huge thanks to the staff and chef—we can’t wait to return! (Only surprise was no espresso.) Highly recommend!

We ate at La Truffe Sauvage this weekend and it was really good. To start with for drinks, my husband had an Old Fashioned and I had a mojito. We’re both usually two drink people but we weren’t really feeling like getting drinks that night. I like my mojito (and all my cocktails) to be sweet, like really sweet hehehe but this was good! Not an overpowering amount of mint. It was very refreshing!

We both had lobster bisque to start. It was beautiful! The pastry on top of it was so stunning and tasty. The bisque itself was very flavorful. I could taste the lobster flavor, but it didn’t have lobster in it- some bisques do and some don’t. Had I known there was no lobster in it I probably would’ve gotten the scallops for an appetizer.

My entree was red snapper with lump crab and steamed potatoes. It also had capers in the sauce. The top of the snapper was so crispy it was like he fried it. I ran my fork across the top of it and could hear the crispyness. I love that the chef didn’t put the sauce on top of the snapper and make it not as crisp lol. The steamed potatoes were not really my thing, as I discovered, but they were okay. My entree was good, although I like a touch more salt on the snapper for my tastes, which is a personal preference thing. My husband’s halibut was amazing!

My husband had the special: halibut with beet pasta and shrimp. The halibut was out of this world flavorful- perfectly seasoned. It was our first time trying halibut. I just recently started eating fish. My husband couldn’t finish his halibut so I felt it was my duty to eat the rest of it . I preferred his meal to mine, but they were both delicious.

For dessert we had a Grand Marnier souffle with creme anglaise. We had to order it with our dinner to make sure it wasn’t going to be a long wait while it was baking. It was probably one of the best desserts I’ve (I think, maybe, both of us) ever had. Very light and fluffy, yet rich. It had a light citrus flavor. It was one of those times when you want to lick the plate but realize that in polite society one doesn’t do such things

Oh, and they brought us some truffles with the check. Be still my heart. They were coconut, hazelnut truffles. Something like that. Delish!

The presentation of everything was beautiful. That’s a big part of the meal for me, not gonna lie. The staff was very attentive- they made sure our water was always full and checked to see if we needed anything else. They always checked to make sure everything tasted good. Honestly that counts for a lot for me. I hate going to a place where what they do is only for how much money they make and they don’t care about the customer experience. We both really felt that they wanted us to enjoy our dining experience. Every staff member there worked together for the benefit of the customer. Different people came to our table to check on us, refill drinks, and thank us for being there throughout the course of our meal. If you’re ever in Lake Charles, Louisiana, definitely give them a try!

I always think about whether I would go back to a place or not when there are other restaurants that we could try. I would definitely go back here to try some of their other items. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed in your fine dining experience. It’s fine dining so you will spend a little more than at other places. Keep that in mind.

If anyone from the restaurant is reading this, thank you ALL for welcoming us, taking amazing care of us, and making our dining experience one to remember.

Ever since I’ve moved to Lake Charles, we kept hearing people talk about La Truffe Sauvage. Everyone kept losing their minds over how amazing the food here was.

But just as soon as we were seated, my wife and I were already blown away! The atmosphere inside the restaurant alone made it such an intimate experience for us. And we felt especially wowed by the incredibly intentional service. I don’t remember his name, but he kindly answered all of our questions about fine dining that we were nervous to ask him. He basically worked with us all night to find the perfect assortment of dishes and wines we wanted for our anniversary.

In terms of food, everything was honestly exactly as people had explained. Everything was to die for, especially my prime beef tenderloin filet. And I’m not a huge fan of crab, but even I kept trying to eat my wife’s jumbo lump crabmeat dish! I only wish we would have saved enough room to order all of their desserts!

We’ll have to come back for a special occasion to try the rest of their menu!!

Your life hasn’t actually started until you’ve had their Duck Confit. Literally (and I’m using that word on purpose) the best meal I’ve ever had.

Upscale but I also feel like the employees aren’t snobbish or take themselves too seriously if that makes sense. As far as I’m aware, the best restaurant in Louisiana.

A Fantastic little secret hidden away in Lake Charles! I’ve lived here for almost 22 years and have never heard of this amazing place. As I am a local guide on Google Reviews and I read lots of other reviews, I came across a wonderful review of this place. I figured I would suprise my wife and take her here, we were both very pleased with our dining experience! We started with an amazing salmon appetizer, and my wife had a Ginger Betty cocktail . The salmon was excellent, and she thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail. We both ordered the Prime beef tenderloin, and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we shared a berry soufflé that was to die for. The service was as good as it Gets! The atmosphere was cozy and warm with an upscale feel. We will definitely be returning.

My brother, from New Orleans and I had dinner at La Truffe Sauvage last night and it was terrific. New Orleanians (if there is such a word) know food and having lived in Tokyo, Paris and Brussels I do too. This place is terrific. From starters through dessert every dish was prepared with creativity and perfection. It was so good that we asked Frank, our totally professional and engaging server, to see if the chef would come out of the kitchen (he did) to thank him personally. Shame on me for not getting the names of the other wait staff who were all great. We picked this restaurant from the internet not having been to Lake Charles and it turned out to be marvelous and on par with any Asian or European capitol. We will be back.
