Kept passing by these place hoping I would get the opportunity to eat there one day.
My wife finally surprised me, by taking me there with the family.
We made it there and enjoyed the place. It’s just artistic everywhere.
Alot to look at. Every wall is full of art.
The food was delicious.
You will definitely need to go with at least $100 to eat there. .
Our ticket was $85
For 3 people not including the dessert. With the tip for the waiter.
You can definitely eat with less than $25
For one person.
The portions are great. We definitely got full.
You can tell they take a lot of pride in there menu and cooking.
Definitely looking to go visit them again.

We came here with some friends because we drive by and say we wanted to go try it out. It’s a great little neighborhood place with nice colorful decor. Fitting for the restaurant. We had fantastic service and delicious food. The food is nothing over the top but the service, food and margaritas combo makes it worthwhile.

Not a family friendly place and to expensive and flavorless bland Mexican food.. The quesadillas had more flavor than the fajitas.. four drinks four meals and 2 bottled beers over a 100 bucks and went to use the ladies room before I left and the lights were out 45 minutes before closing and couldn’t find the light switch in the bathroom with my phone flash light!! Do not recommend going to this place..

My wife and I stopped in La Tropicana for the first time ever, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience for us. The food was delicious, the restaurant was beautiful, and the service was impeccable. Can’t wait to go back to this historic Lawrence family owned and operated business!

Ordered an $18 special, smothered burrito situation with no cheese. Recieved two tortillas filled with ground beef. I could clearly see the green sauce on another person’s plate who ordered the same thing, amongst their lovely cheese experience. I went up to the counter and asked for a side of sour cream and a side of green sauce. Was told it would be $4 for both, so I explained my situation, counter lady went back to work out the details with the kitchen staff. The female bartender told me I would still have to pay with for the sour cream. I said since I didn’t get cheese, maybe I could just get the sour cream? She laughed at me and rolled her eyes. I said, hey, you don’t need to laugh at me, I’m just asking. The counter lady brought out the green sauce, said I’d have to pay for the sour cream. I said no thanks, sat down; feeling pretty emotional at that laughter for making a request. I don’t mind paying for anything, I’m also cool with saying no if I decide I don’t want to. Don’t appreciate the rudeness, though.
I can’t recommend a place where the service laughs at you for asking a question. We were a table of 7 adults that ordered full entrees and pitchers of drinks so I know we didn’t short change them.
I love a chill & friendly meal experience and an equal change of courtesy. This is not it. I personally won’t be back.

I liked the atmosphere. The service was great. I wasn’t rushed and have plenty of time to sit and enjoy my food. I highly recommend going to this restaurant.

The food isn’t really bad, but it’s also not good. It’s just like any other “Mexican” restaurant, a lot closer to tex-mex than anything. To start with the bad, we got salsa brought to the table and no chips, I asked for the chips, and they brought them.. also charge me $6 just for that.
The Burrito is just a small tortilla with some ground beef, and that was all.
Frozen margarita was pretty good, and the patio looks really nice.
But is it somewhere that I would go back to? I’m not so sure

30 dollars for 2 paper plates, and plastic to eat off of. There must be a tomato shortage as you can see in the photos only one small piece for the tacos, and I small piece for the burritos.

I love La Tropicana – good food, good Rita’s, cold beer, friendly service – you can’t go wrong. Secluded patio for outside dining. Just across the river from downtown Mass St – 60sec down the street from Johnny’s.

Service was not good at all. Price was not ideal for 3 tacos. The menu is very small and not a lot to choose from. Not once did we have anyone ask how our food was. Not at all what we expected. Since when is chips and salsa not included with your order??
