Reviews
The seafood is the real highlight: ultra-fresh, simple, and prepared with the kind of precision only a long-standing marisquería can deliver. The salpicón, cigalas, langostinos, merluza and the grilled fish are consistently excellent, always cooked just right and served without unnecessary embellishments. Portions are generous and the quality is top-tier.
Prices are on the higher side, but they match the product and the overall experience. If you’re looking for classic Madrid seafood done exceptionally well, La Trainera remains a reliable reference
And basically paid a hefty price for basic salads, breads and a nice fish. Can’t complain about the quality of food or service but was a fast quick expensive meal. Three times expensive than any other meal we had all week. Nice people but 300 euros and never got my ice cream (LOL). Worth a shot definitely but expect to pay above average
Wide selection from the Mediterranean sea.
Very reasonable price for the quality food, ambience and service.
We ordered all the delicacies like fish, lobster, Crab and prawn.
I eat at Trainera couple of times a year, their quality is always at the top and attention makes you feel right at home.
As a solo diner I was seated at the very back at a tiny table in front of the kitchen door – not an agreeable location with the bustling service coming in and out of the kitchen right by me. Service was impersonal and rushed.
The food itself: I ordered white asparagus (in season); very meh. I also ordered 2 king prawns, large and delicious – and €66 for both. They were good but not worth that much.
Food: 5. The quality is simply amazing. Not just fresh, but the preparation is simple yet with a lot of natural flavour.
Service: 4. The waiters have a lot of experience and they will help you order, as they know that ordering here is not simple if you have no knowledge about seafood.
Place: 4. Clean, not noisy and well lighted.
Below some photographs of what we ordered: Pulpo a la gallega. Gambas. Merluza.
