Fast, hot and delicious. Went before the dinner rush so service was fast. Varied menu but typical fare. It was good but not worth driving unless you’re close.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and taken care of. Our server truly went above and beyond—attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful throughout our dinner. They made great recommendations, checked on us often without being intrusive, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—every dish was a hit! The Agua de Horchata was super delicious and the presentation blows my mind. But really made the night special was the genuine hospitality and warmth from our server Karen. It’s rare to find service that feels this personal and sincere.

We’ll definitely be back—and recommending this place to everyone we know. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

Ordered food around 6:45pm online. Was given a 7:30 pickup time. I gave them a little more than that because the parking lot was absolutely packed. Walked in around 7:40. Food was not ready. The host was polite and said he would check the kitchen. He cleaned tables, took food orders, and served tables for 15 minutes and eventually made his way back to the front and asked what I had ordered. Left with my order at 8pm. Cannot speak for the other members of my family but the three chicken and cheese tacos I had were extremely soggy, by the time I got to the third taco it just fell apart because of how much water was coming from them. They lacked flavor. Would probably not order takeout again, but would like to dine in at some point to try something different on the menu

Decent food. Salsa was flavorful. Queso a bit watery but good flavor. I got the fried chimichangas and they were pretty good. Food came out SUPER FAST. Like not even 8 mins after we ordered we got fresh and hot food. Server was very nice and respectful. Margarita had a cute little ducky on it. Overall a good experience.

Do not recommend this place at all. Server wasn’t attentive and food wasn’t all that great. We came in with 4 adults and a toddler(who didn’t order food). We had to wait around to get the servers attention to get napkins and tortillas, which by the way we got half way though our meal. The cherry on top was the 20% gratuity. The bill was roughly $200. As a server my self i wouldn’t add the gratuity if i didn’t give the table the best of the best service. Needless to say of felt like we were being profiled there was no reason to add the tip and if she did she could have let us know.

Food was great !! Margarita and non-alcoholic Corona also good. Requested sour cream did not come. We eventually asked and got it Server never checked to see if we wanted drink refills. Sat there almost 20 minutes after we were finished before server stopped by. We got boxes and then waited again for the check. The restaurant was not busy at all …maybe 3 or 4 other booths with customers. No excuse for poor service when not busy. Her name was Rubi.

Low on inspiration and low on price. A karen served me, no, a real Karen. Her name was Karen and she was a karen. The food came out fast and was underwhelming. Not a lotnof flavor or pride. An authentic Mexicant resturaunt. I know they can do better. The salad was iceberg with very little diced tomatoes and a squiggly of sour cream. The salsa they served with the chips was bland and pretty much just tomato sauce. Those of you giving this place a 5 need to travel south a bit. Chipotle has more flavor. Oh, and how can you destroy a margaritas? It’s called pre-made. All in all it was great, if you have never had mexican food before. And Karen, try a smile and a hi once. She literally tossed the bill in my direction and it curled up like a snake. 30 bucks? Not again

La Tonalteca in Christiana is a great value Mexican family restaurant. The portions are generous, the food is consistently good, and it’s an easy place to bring the family for a solid meal without spending a fortune. We’ve always had a good experience here.

I’ve been to the Newark and Milford locations multiple times and it’s really great food. Everything is well seasoned and very flavorful. The decor in both locations will have you feeling like you’re actually visiting a small part of Mexico. They have the cutest post cards when you pay your bill also.
