The food was delicious and it came at a good amount of time. I went there with some friends and we had some struggles with reservations which they hadn’t put in our reservation down. We were also not given untensils for the fist 20 min of our meals being given but that might have just been an unlucky experience

This is my second time visiting, and I have enjoyed both. I think this is a great place for a nice relaxing dinner. The restaurant is beautifully designed with perfect colors and decoration. My only suggestion is making the frozen drinks more ice than water consistency! The food was enjoyable and inclusive for those who want an alternative of authentic Mexican food but can’t handle the spices. Although it was unpleasant to receive an avocado that was not edible..if the avocado isn’t good enough why even add it? I much rather receive no avocado then to receive an avocado that looks like this.. All my guests received an avocado like this when dining.

Catherine. That’s the name of our server. She is absolutely a top notch server. I don’t even favor Mexican food but my wife wanted to come. Our server could sense I was unfamiliar and knew exactly what to recommend. Food turned out to be great. Server smiled and loved her job and did it well. Can say enough about the service.

I actually rate the La Tolteca in Barley Mill a bit higher than its cousin along Concord Pike. Why? I think the atmosphere is a bit better than the other location. Sure there it isn’t quite the same atmosphere as a traditional Mexican restaurant but I like the brighter atmosphere and more spacious dining area. I guess it’s something that makes this location stand out compared to many of the others around the area so that stands out.
The service was about the same as the other location along Concord pike. The server made sure I was taken care of and answered any questions I had on the menu items. Overall I had a good experience with the service here.
Food I rated a little higher and that was likely due to the entree I choice this time, picking a burrito smothered in mole. While I don’t remember the burrito itself other than the meat was moist and tender and well seasoned, the mole is what really stands out to me. It added a volume of flavor and a little bit of heat to the dish and I savored it. Probably a dish I would order back at the other location to see if it’s just as good. And I would definitely want to explore more of the menu on a future visit.
As with the other location, La Tolteca is a good Mexican restaurant in the Wilmington area to visit and one I will likely come back to in the future.

I ordered a large, last minute order for a retirement lunch. The employee who took the order was extremely helpful and promised our order would be ready in time. The order was ready as was promised. They included utensils and plates. The food itself was great. We had a large variety and everything was exceptional. The entire group mentioned how good the food was.

Definitely a must-go to place.

The waiter was pretty inattentive and slow, taking a while to come around for orders and never brought my neice anything to drink. I ordered the steak street tacos and the chicken and shrimp Hawaiian fajitas. The steak tacos were fairly pricey and the steak was dry and tough, with little flavor. Despite being served in half of a pineapple, the fajita barely contained any actual pineapple and the chicken was fairly plain, while the shrimp were pretty tasty.

I’m gonna preface this by saying I’m used to Mexican food from Callifornia and the southwest.

La Tolteca did an excellent job for Delaware. Food was good (maybe a little more variety in the spices) and the service was fine. I get the feeling this region is limited by ingredients available from restaurant suppliers as I’ve noticed the same with Asian food in the area.

Tolteca margarita – Absolutely perfect the margarita struck the ideal balance between tart and sweet, with just the right kick of tequila. Fresh lime and an Easily one of the best I’ve had! Specifically summer is around the corner to invite your friends and family for a great memory
Skinny margarita – Made with fresh lime juice, high-quality tequila, and just a hint of natural sweetness— from syrup it’s light, smooth, and incredibly easy to sip. Whether I’m hosting friends or just after work, this cocktail feels like sunshine in a glass and seriously satisfy
To be continue.. New thing coming soon but give a try if you haven’t

My husband and I often eat at the bar. The female bartender is excellent, humble and kind! Food is great but the staff often make it better!
