I I rated this establishment three stars due to the high cost of its offerings. My recent purchase of six carnita tacos and chips with salsa amounted to $31, excluding beverages. While the food was undeniably delicious, I find the pricing to be excessive. It appears that a surcharge is applied to card payments, which can be avoided by paying in cash. To be clear the the tacos plate offers 3 tacos i feel i got charged for each taco.

My visit was with a friend who has prior experience here with the quality of the food and the vibe of the restaurant. In many ways and years the place has never changed. And I for one think that is a great reason to visit again and again. We began with a chicken burrito that was ginormous! Very delicious. Also enjoyed a chimy chunga with steak. The sides are huge and very tasty. The guacamole and salsa are perfect. I got he feeling that this was a representation of a genuine dish and restaurant in Mexico. We also enjoyed the BEST mango coconut drink I have ever tasted! And if you want a beer, I recommend the 32oz Modelo. Awesome! The staff are very friendly and polite. Don’t forget to visit the grocery store in the rear of the building. Amazing items and all appear genuine Mexico
You will find that of any of the Mexican restaurants in Gainesville, these folks are the Very BEST! Enjoy

The food is great but this is not $4 worth of extra rice. They always seem so stingy with rice like it’s not one of the cheapest things in the world. I feel like any other restaurant would have this tiny takeout box full of rice for the same price.

Best Mexican restaurant in Gainesville hands down. It’s always so good, the prices are very reasonable and they give you great portions. We go here all the time and I recommend it to everyone

Well…
I been in many mexican stores, restaurants, cafeterias.
For us is always a safe choices. Who doesn’t like Mexican food ?
But today been our first not good day.
I order a carnitas burrito with rice and refrito on the side. Presentation was poor but the worst part was that everything was cold (room temperature) to what I ask for the food to be warm up twice (first time everything came back as cold). It felt like Noone really cares about customer basic needs.
My wife order some fries and fried chicken (completely flat, flavorless not even salt).
This are comments hoping for things to be corrected in this business, so future customers experience could be a better one than ours.
Please make Mexican food as great as should be, so it properly represents Mexico.
I been in Mexico also, many many times.

***** don’t eat here *****
This place has gone downhill over the years and it shows. It use to be something great, but now it’s not. would be better off at el indo, any location.
I ordered to go and got screwed. I got skimmed on meat and nopales, in both my quesadillas. And finally they put my queso dip in a styrofoam to go container, not a bowl, or container with a scalable lid, so guess what happened… yep… queso everywhere but in the container. When ask why, the response was “that’s just how we do it..” its basically cheese soup!!!!!
You can see why this place is empty and now hiring and been hiring for the past 3 months…

I cannot believe how good the Chilaquiles are, I got Verde and it was perfectly spicy, if you really like spicy, but you’re still working with an American tongue.
I highly recommend trying it, I’ve been eating here for years and this is my first time trying it, now it’ll be my go to. I’m sorry there are no pictures because we ate it all too fast.

The best authentic Mexican food I’ve had. Great service and cozy place to eat. I’m hating that I’m not local, just stopped in on a visit for gator gymnastics camp!

Parking in the rear, including handicap space and access ramp. You order at the counter and can get it to go or eat inside or on the patio. Servers were good. Tried the Guacamole with chips and salsa that was spot on. Also ordered fried whole fish that came with salad, fried beans, rice, and soft tortillas for my mom. She loved it and couldn’t believe she ate it all! Not really easy to eat with knife & fork, this is best eaten by hand. It was definitely enough for two to share. I ordered beef tongue tacos and they’re okay. Lots of leftovers to take home.

Beyond authentic from the moment you walk in with delicious food and great service. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Highly recommend if looking for a reasonably priced meal.
