We visited La Terraza at approximately 1:30 pm on October 1st of 2022 after the lunch rush. We were wonderfully greeted by the staff and were seated at a large table as we were a group of five. Our server was superb (Gulmira). She not only took our orders, but took care of our every need and anticipated others from napkins to drinks even recommended dessert options for the group to share. We started with the normal chips and salsa. We also added a large cheese queso to the group. It was well worth the $9.99 price point. It was huge, plenty for each person to share and more to individually use on your meal, if you wanted it. I ordered a Trio Mexicano (photo) that had steak, chicken, and shrimp with rice and beans with a twist of orange. Others in my group ordered Enchiladas Mole (photo), Tacos Carne Asada (photo) and two Steak Quesadilla Fajitas (not pictured). The Trio was absolutely wonderful as it came with warm homemade tortillas. The sauce was devine and all proteins were cooked to the correct temperature. The grilling provided just the right textures. I would definitely suggest trying it, but beware, you need to be hungry to finish it in one sitting (LOL). The Enchiladas Mole was filled with shredded beef. The sauce was dark and rich. Surprisingly, the slight addition of the sesame seeds added a nice texture to the sauce. We like the visual garnishment of the tomato, the green pepper and a purple onion slice vs the standard spoonful of pico. Our youngest member who is a taco enthusiast decided on the Tacos Carne Asada. The three taco dish was delivered street style with homemade double layers corn tortillas over-filled with steak with sides of fresh tomato pico and beans. I tried a piece of the steak. The flavors were so layered that I wanted to steal a few more pieces just for the flavor, let alone the tenderness of the steak, itself. Our enthusiast gave it a well deserved thumbs-up! The Steak Quesadillas were well filled with cheese and tender steak. It filled the other two members of the party . As the group was coming to the meal’s conclusion, Gulmira suggested a couple or orders of Sopapillas. I agreed as long as they were the kind that were fluffy pillows of dough. She guaranteed they were. We agreed. Gulmira returned with two large plates of Sopapillas with each plate containing three beautifully fluffed pillows gently coated in sugar & cinnamon with drizzlings of caramel. On the side of each plate was two small scoops of vanilla ice cream covered with real whipped cream drizzled with chocolate syrup and a cherry. It was the perfect ending to a perfect lunch!
Our luncheon was wonderfully perfect at La Terraza. Our cuisine was some of the best Mexican we have had in a good while. We will definitely be making this fine establishment one of our regulars when we feel the need for flavors south of the border. Plus, we have an entire menu to explore!!

Awesome family atmosphere followed by great service and outstanding food. We had Fajitas Parrillada Tropical, which comes with rice, refried beans, sour cream/avacado and my had the Carne Asada. Priced well for the portion. Totally coming back. Oh and my favorite Mexican drink made up of white rice soaked in water, it’s flavored with cinnamon and its sweetened with granulated sugar.

I love the food here. Pretty much anything I have ordered was good. Their margaritas are delicious (they have several types to order on the drink list) and there are some nice flavor options for the regular ones. I often order their fajitas, which is a lot of food, so I can take some home to have the next day. Service is always fast and the staff are always very nice. This is my go to Mexican restaurant in Mankato.

Wow, I would have never guessed Mankato Minnesota for some excellent Mexican cuisine. Attentive staff, excellent service, friendly, great variety of food on the menu, hot and made to order! Well decorated and a nice bar area. I’ve been to the restaurant four times already in my short arrival to Mankato since the first of February.

We’ve been to La Terrazza quite a few times now, and it’s always been a good experience. The atmosphere is just a little more upscale than other Mexican restaurants in the area. The food and service will not disappoint! We really love the queso fundido and fajitas, but the highlight for me is the Margarita flight! A wonderful date night spot. They do not skimp on the portions–Be prepared to take home leftovers!

My Durango Special was pretty good. Service was good too. Salsa was not as good as it usually is. Hot salsa was very hot but not much flavor.

One of the best restaurants in Mankato. Great authentic food. The staff is very friendly, food is always served hot and in a timely manner. All you can eat chips and salsa makes the dinning experience even better. Make this one of your places to visit when you come to town.
