La Terrasse Restaurant & Bar at Hotel de France has introduced a new dining experience, very much in keeping with traditional French cuisine. Our team have designed menus using French cooking techniques, local ingredients wherever possible and some exciting twists to create something unique for diners. There are three central dining areas, whilst all offer La Terrasse menus, each section has a very different feel: The Palm room is defined by its towering palm trees. The Bistro-style area is where the extensive Bar is located. Lastly, there is both a covered and open terrace to relax and enjoy the wonderful sunsets.

Had the worst sirloin steak in my life for dinner there yesterday. Had decided to go back for dinner because we had a lovely three course meal a couple of days back . My husband and I both ordered medium rare steak. His steak was beautifully done except the cut had hard bits of tendon which he had to keep spitting out. Mine was a lesson in how not to cook a steak, with the edges, well done and progressively different stages of cooking till the centre was quite blue. Reported it and asked to speak to the chef, but the steak was taken away and no comment from the chef. The charge was reversed on the bill for which I’m grateful .

Saffron’s Indian cuisine has been combined with other cuisines within this one beautiful setting. We ate from the Indian cuisine menu this evening and had the set menu at £50 per head. Worth absolutely every single penny. There is a choice of meat or vegetarian set menu and both were exquisitely presented. It was like an explosion of flavours on the palate. One of the best meals I have had in my entire life! The staff were also very pleasant and professional. Thank you….

Food is excellent, staff friendly and polite, specials board always seems to draw in the customers as it did me and when I wanted one of the meals off the board they had sold out, Guess I was just to late. Good range of drinks.
The only issue I have is when the small restaurant down the road sells the same drinks for half the price . Think this restaurants mark up is way to big.

Terrible food. Lacklustre service. Stayed at the hotel and had a spa day. Everything great except for the bad food and terrible service at the restaurants. I would not ever eat there again. Breakfast was so bad we opted to eat in town even though breakfast came with the room.
