We recently ate at La Tejanita and were honestly shocked at how expensive it ended up being.
Our food total was $55.81 for fairly simple breakfast plates and tacos. After tax and the 4% card fee, the bill came to $62.83 before tip. We were charged extra for basic items — including $1.50 just to add onions to the enchiladas and additional charges for American cheese on tacos. Those small add-ons quickly drive the bill up.
Unfortunately, the food quality didn’t match the price. The enchiladas tasted like a frozen TV dinner rather than fresh, homemade Mexican food. The flour tortillas were clearly machine-made and not fully cooked through. The rice wasn’t traditional Mexican rice at all — it was plain white rice.
For what we paid, we expected much better quality and authenticity. Very disappointing overall.

This is our 2nd time at this restaurant. It was a great experience. Service is prompt, food is excellent and the price is great for the portions.

If you come to this place in order to go you were treated like an outcast not to mention my meal should have been 15.00 I only added a tea and it ended up being $7 for the tea now I did order extra beans those never came. They definitely showed me I wasn’t welcome ordering a to-go order there by giving me cold food as well. Maybe it was the fact I wanted to sit down and have a glass of tea while I waited. The sad thing is I didn’t even talk to the same person twice from the time I got there till I left except to refill my tea once for the trip home. I did try to call my order in the phone was busy all morning. Not that my advice is welcome at this point but maybe we should invest in a little more manners as people arrive and install more phone lines you might even get more business that way.

My girl and I have gone here for the last two years. We have covered most of the menu in our time. I can honestly tell you the atmosphere is relaxing and the service is usually pretty on point.
The Top shelf margaritas are pretty pontent. However, nothing beats a frozen house Margarita with a corona shoved in on top. Served with street tacos as a main.
One of the better Mexican food joints in Victoria. Estimate pricing is fair I would say…. For this day in age anyway 🙂
5/5 Would easily recommend

Really good enchiladas! Great portions and extremely fast service! The staff is very friendly, as well. My food came out piping hot and delicious. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Check them out if you get a chance

Personally, I enjoyed my meal, but the people with me weren’t quite as enthusiastic about their meal. Our waiter was fast and good with everything. Overall, it was a great place to eat. I definitely recommend this place.

Hands down my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Victoria. The service is always prompt, with hardly ever a waiting time. I love to get the Reynosa plate which is a Tamale w/ 2 enchiladas and rice and beans. The mangonada margaritas is also a favorite of mine! Highly recommended!

We got sat very shortly after we arrived. The waitstaff was accommodating. The shrimp from my moms soup was a little bit overcooked, everything else was well.

Only been one time so far but the margaritas were delicious. It’s sort of homey and not too fancy but the food is good – I ordered the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious. I might go back to have more margaritas. Menu was a print out.
