This one is a family favorite, we all absolutely adore it and have been coming here for years! Their pasta dishes are absolutely outstanding, huge portions with fresh ingredients, delicious pizzas with lots of options and great location right in front of the sea

Lately though we have been noticing how the portions started to get smaller, especially when you order seafood which is their absolute specialty…
I’m excited to go back this summer and see if anything changed!

Simply the best fish meal of my life! I went there without reservation and late for the Christmas lunch with my family (and this can be a HUGE problem in Italy, specially in interior of Italy). They lovely found us a place and served the most fresh and delicious food I’ve ever had! The combination was amazing, in giant quantities (really giant, I don’t know how a person can manage to eat all the courses) and with a kind service. My only regret was that I didn’t discover La Taverna before they are fully booked for New Year’s Eve. I totally recommend this restaurant!!! ♥

The service was super slow, of course I have to tell they served us even without reservation. But the oyster didn’t look nice, no water at all and one of them was even broken. The women in charged was not very friendly even she we told us it was normal to eat some oyster in bad conditions. Then she even charged us for the oysters we didn’t even touched. It was expensive so the quality of food. Just one of the waiters was so nice, the rest disgusting. Now I understand why they are on 3.8 only out of 5. For us, it was minus 10. Look at the pictures pls. Even in the pictures they look better. Also the clams where super salted and the meet very dry. A complete awful dinner.

Delicious food served by very friendly people. Absolutely enjoyed the Sicilian dining in a great atmosphere with local wine, pasta and fish. Go for them.

This amazing icon deserves very high rating. The pasta with almonds is unique and amazing. It’s our tradition to have our meals here whenever we are in Avola.

La Taverna Del Pescatore unfortunately losing its charm. Unbothered staff, non so clean tables, late arriving mediocre food, dated and rundown interior. There are much nicer places to go and eat in Avola than La Taverna Del Pescatore. It was a very nice place 5-6 years ago. Such a shame.

With a beautiful selection of fresh fish and crustaceans on ice (some still living), this seafood-focused, beachfront restaurant serves up the Mediterranean’s bounty.

Fried assorted seafood platter, perfectly crisp and no grease. A platter of shellfish raw bar (oysters, clams, langoustine) and tuna crudo, briny and sweet.

The sun-filled patio makes for a relaxing meal with friends or family. While service may at times feel slow, it’s perfect if you have no intention of leaving soon.

Review updated after our second visit to the restaurant during our stay in Avola.
My wife and I had enjoyed an evening meal here on one of our first evenings in Avola so returned a week later for a second visit. The restaurant was recommended by the owners of our accommodation & as it was a 15min walk along the seafront it was ideal.
On our first visit the restaurant was relatively quiet when we went in but very quickly got busy though there are plenty of tables through to the rear. During our second visit, the restaurant was much quieter and there were very few locals in this time around, with a very different armosphere to our first visit, both were Sunday evenings.
For our first visit we had our minds set on pizza but the seafood menu also looked fantastic. Absolutely no complaints about the pizza, very generous toppings, the base was lovely and light and we both enjoyed them very much. As we had enjoyed the pizzas first time around we ordered pizza again, it may have been just the different pizza type ordered but on our second visit I just found it disappointing.
Staff were still friendly, food and drink was good value for what we had particularly in comparison to prices back home but certainly our second visit has made made adjust my review. Perhaps we caught it on a bad night second time around but sign of a good restaurant is consistency even when quiet so just left a bit disappointed with our second visit in comparison to our first. Grazie

We just had pizza here on our last night. A great selection, we had 6 different pizzas, all were delicious! I’ve never had swordfish on pizza before! Great ice cream & coffee shop attached to the restaurant.
