Our history is simple but with great pride in who we are and what we want to show and transmit with our tasty and colorful food, natives of the capital of Mexico with some years of experience in Mexican street food we dared to dream and we started our own business. Our dream was a small taco trailer always working hard so that our customers, who are our greatest motivation, are taken care of. We try to prefect the taste, color and presentation of our food so that you enjoy it and when you try it, you automatically move to the small food stand in Mexico. This is probably my 5th coming here now. But today I went to La Taquiza for lunch after work with some coworkers and it did not disappoint. I ordered the enchilada with both sauces and it came with rice and beans. We shared the cheese dip with chips which was really good. Their in house sauces are amazing and each one has its own level of spice. Everything we tried was on point and the service was both friendly and accommodating. Nothing short of to be expected. The atmosphere is also really fun with so much cool art decorating the space. Definitely a delicious and authentic Mexican restaurant I’d return again and again.

I came here for a lunch pick up order after getting some soil from Lowe’s. Figured I’d start off my gardening journey right with some good food.
La Taquiza is seriously one of my favorite spots for Mexican food. I’ve been there a few times now, and every visit has been a delicious experience. It’s like a little food festival in my mouth! I had the pork moei taco, taco azteca, empanadas, and lunch special tacos. everything was packed with flavor and so satisfying. I also love that they offer a variety of sauces to go with your meal. The prices are super reasonable, and even though I did takeout, the customer service was great. The location is small but bright and beautiful decor. Can’t wait to go back again soon!

After living in California for over 10 years and enjoying an abundance of Mexican food, it was quite a challenge to find a good place here in Lexington. Now, I can confidently say that this restaurant serves the most authentic food and actually offers salsa, not just sauce like some other places I’ve tried.

Read good reviews and wanting some good Mexican food we decided to try La Taquiza out. The restaurant is pretty much a hole in the wall with seating for maybe 20 inside and another 20 outside. They have great tacos with a variety of meats to choose from. They also have Burritos, quesadillas, tortas and more. They also have a salsa bar with 5 different homemade salsas. They also have horchata. I had 3 tacos and the Guacamole. All very good. I’d rate the food at about 4.5 stars. Staff VERY friendly. We’d definitely come back.

Loved the taco week experience! The food is delish and so is the service and the staff and the various kinds of salsas. This is a hidden gem and we absolutely loved the authentic food and the tortillas made in house. If only this place could be bigger!! I wold highly recommend and definitely come back again soon!!

I had the La Taquiza Chilaquiles with a Pina colada drink. The serving size was more than I could eat. I’d recommend ordering one to share or doggie bag. (side note I got acid reflux from this) I think something might be fried in it. The Pina colada drink was excellent. And they have frozen margaritas
Pros: It’s a small spot, but it has flavor.
The food is abundant and good for a good price.
Cons: Only one bathroom.
Seating area is limited inside. (They do have an outside seating area for nice days)

I used to love this restaurant, I believe they had the most authentic mexican flavors. However, their sanitary standards have been declining consistently. I took my Jain friend to eat at this restaurant and they served us cheese dip with pork bits in it. I informed the server and they brought us another cheese dip. I went back the next week with my boyfriend and once again the cheese dip and had pork in it. Not to mention, I ordered a vegetarian taco and they served me a pork-belly taco even though I had sepcifically told the host I was vegetarian. Eating pork posits a health and religious risk. Consistently serving pork in cheese dip makes me question the sanitation standards of the kitchen.

Read the glowing reviews and was dying for tacos so checked it out. The reviews did not disappoint. The best salsa and chips I have ever had. The meat options are amazing. Far more meat than I have ever gotten at The Local Taco. Can’t wait to go back.
