Had a great experience at La Tapiz Restaurant in Laredo, located in the hotel lobby of the DoubleTree. The atmosphere is very elegant and comfortable, making it a great spot for a nice dinner.
The menu is more on the upscale side with great options like filet mignon, ribeyes, and shrimp plates, and everything we tried was very good. They have a solid selection if you’re looking for a higher-end meal in Laredo.
Another big plus is that parking in the parking garage is free when you dine, which makes it very convenient.
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The only small issue was that I ordered a baked potato and it didn’t arrive until we were already leaving. However, the staff handled it professionally — they apologized, gave us a complimentary dessert and let me take the baked potato to go at no charge, which was appreciated.
The only other thing to note is that a 20% gratuity is automatically included, even if you’re dining alone, which might surprise some people.
Overall, great food, great service, and a classy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it if you’re visiting Laredo or staying at the DoubleTree.

We came here for Valentine’s Day dinner and absolutely loved it. The service and atmosphere were fantastic, and everyone was exceptionally kind and attentive. The food was delicious, and having Javier Richard perform that night made the experience even more special. The bar area is elegant and perfect for relaxing and chatting, though it’s not ideal for watching games since there aren’t many TVs. The prices are also very reasonable. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that we truly enjoyed.

I had an amazing experience at La Tapiz Restaurant in Laredo, TX. From the moment I walked in, the service was everything. The staff treated me with so much kindness and made me feel very welcome. The decor is beautiful and creates such a relaxing atmosphere. I also loved the smell of the hotel it made the whole place feel fresh and inviting. Everyone working there was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. The drinks were also great! I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in Laredo. Great service, great atmosphere, and a place I would happily visit again.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. The Service is HORRID! My daughter and I went for the first time. Greated nicely. That was about the only good thing. You had 2 hostesses, 3 bar tenders, and about 3 seevers, and what appeared 3 managers. Zero tables taken and some people at the bar. 1. They failed to serve water as soon as we sat. 2. I kept repeating, no ice on the club soda we asked for. The club soda came with ice and no lime as requested either. 3. They did not have the tequila I like for a margarita. They gave me a this is the tequilas we have and none of my like so I can’t use that against anyone. However, i asked for water twice since we were never served and they still did not bring it until I asked for it like 2 times. 4. I asked for an appetizer and we were not brought plates to serve them. Until I asked and they only brought me 1. Mind you we were 2 people. 5. Finally, another couple gets there and they state it was their first time (like me and co) and the manager receives and helps them get seated. One of the servers pours water in their glasses immediately.

This place was 5 stars all the way. Disregard casino’s and think strictly hotels. I travel a ton and usually stay at around 40-50 different hotels every year. I literally always skip whatever restaurant they have because they are never good, and the first night I did the same thing here. However, when I picked up my DoorDash order downstairs, I noticed everything going on at the restaurant and kind of regret not trying it.
Second night I went to the Tapiz and was instantly greeted by a very pleasant staff and seated at the bar. The places vibe, decoration, and cocktails are not what you normally see at a hotel. They were trimming fresh flowers to place on every table which I thought was a nice touch. I don’t drink hard liquor, but the cocktails looked great! I ordered the chips and salsa to limp in and test the water. I know some people don’t like to pay for chips and salsa, but I don’t mind if it’s worth it. It was more than worth it, delicious chips and amazing salsa, I almost filled up eating it all. I order fajita asada as my entree and it was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. All in all, I would recommend, and I will be stay at the hotel every time I return to Laredo.

I experienced La Tapiz for the first time and I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our dietary needs. We also recorded a chef special dessert at the end of our meal as a surprise. I will be revisiting La Tapiz when I come back next time.

I came here and of all the good choices picked the salmon! This was so delicious! I really do only eat mostly fish as a meat and get disappointed so often so coming here and having something so perfectly cooked and seasoned made my day… the rest of the table was really happy as well. Great service as well!
