We came to this place with our friends on Saturday night. It was moderately lively which was good. The decor was nice and welcoming. Cleanliness was also very good. Our server was very engaging and he did a good job in getting our order in.

The food – now this was meh. I didn’t feel the freshness that I would in other competition. The burrata didn’t come with any bread which was disappointing and the bread given on the table when we sat only had 4 pieces (but it was good). The ravioli could use more sauce. The shrimp Alla vodka was very good. We aked it to be very spicy and they tried their best. If I come again, I’d expect better food quality.

Wow-What an outdoor gem. The rear outdoor area could be one of the finest in the city. My daughters invited me and it was all our first time and I can’t wait to get back there. The food was incredible and super fresh but the atmosphere might just outshine the food and service. Definitely a must. Also a fantastic happy hour menu.

A phenomenal experience at this restaurant! The staff is incredibly welcoming, and I had the pleasure of meeting the management – wonderful people who truly care about their guests. The food was exceptional! For the appetizer, we had octopus and calamari, which were perfectly prepared. I had the risotto, my friend enjoyed the pasta, and we were both delighted. For dessert, we had a delicious tiramisu and an amazing apple cake with ice cream on top – the perfect sweet ending! I highly recommend this place – great atmosphere, outstanding food, and excellent service!

We had our wedding in the private event space at La Storia, and I truly can’t imagine a more perfect place. We rented the entire upstairs for our intimate 14-person celebration, and from start to finish, it was absolute magic.

Working with Slav, the general manager, was a dream. He made the planning process so easy and enjoyable. He genuinely cared about every little detail. From curating the perfect menu, to helping us select the wines, to coordinating with our baker for the cake delivery, he handled it all seamlessly and with such care.

The space itself is stunning, warm, and inviting—ideal for a cozy yet elegant gathering. And the staff? Absolutely incredible. They made us feel celebrated and completely taken care of, like we were the only event that mattered.

And the food… don’t even get me started. Hands-down the best lasagna I’ve ever had (and I don’t say that lightly). Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented.

I would highly recommend La Storia for your next private event—or even just a dinner out. It’s a truly special place with phenomenal food and a team that goes above and beyond.

La Storia in Chicago’s Gold Coast is a hidden gem for Italian cuisine. With a cozy front and back patio, plus a historic mansion setting, it’s a must-visit. Happy hour runs Monday through Thursday, 4-6PM. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, gnocchi, lasagna, red snapper, and slow-cooked pork shoulder—everything was delicious and filling! If you love Italian food, check this place out.

My friend had her birthday dinner here and our experience was 10/10. When we arrived, my friend realized that she did not book patio seating but the host was very accommodating and gave us seating in the back patio which was gorgeous! Our server Aubrey had a great personality, greeted the birthday girl with a complimentary glass of prosecco, displayed extensive knowledge of the menu, and was very attentive throughout our dinner. Another server named IVO visited our table to wish the birthday girl a happy birthday and gave us a great wine recommendation that paired well with all of our entrees. Everyone loved their meal and we will definitely be back to check out their happy hour or one of the wine-pairing dinners they host. Lastly, I’m a sucker for espresso martinis and they use actual espresso instead of coffee liqueur.

One of the authentic Italian places you will find in Chicago. The pasta tasted authentic and so did the lasagna. However something to be aware of is there are no white sauce options in any of the dishes. They also do not have pizza on the menu which is interesting for an Italian place. The place was also surprisingly fairly empty for a Saturday night. However the wine selection is good and the place has a variety of seating options- both indoor and outdoor. Overall a great experience as the Italian food isn’t Americanized. Some more attention to detail and the place has potential to be a 5 star.

Really awesome spot both inside and on the back patio.

Service was fantastic and super quick/attentive. Our waitress was very good.

The inside is really nice and was perfect for a hot day or cold night and the back patio is amazing.

Food was very good, the pasta was fresh and sauce was great. My dates lasagna was decent not exceptional by any means, a 4/5. My dish the Tagliatelle alla bolognese was fantastic. An easy 9.4/10.

The espresso trip to finish with a port hit the spot and both were fantastic.

Excited to come back.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for my friends birthday, the service and food was absolutely wonderful!! Our servers name was Aubrey and she was extremely attentive to our needs and so polite! I tried the lamb and the ravioli, both were cooked perfect and tasted divine. The manager also took the time to check in on us and ask us how our food and drinks were, I greatly appreciated that. Overall great ambiance and dining experience, I will definitely be back for more!!
