La Stella’s is one of my family’s favorites! We typically enjoy take out from both the restaurant and the bakery. Today we opted to dine in and it was excellent! Staff is friendly and attentive. Love the open kitchen and even got a tour from our favorite delivery driver of the upstairs dining areas used for special events. The La Stella family makes you feel like you’re part of their family no matter if it’s dining in, delivery or take out. 10/10 recommend!

We came for the first time in a large party on a Monday night and received very attentive and excellent service and food from our server, Pickles. We had the big booth in the corner room and it felt like VIP. It was nice to be with my whole family in such a private area. The entire staff was super friendly and we will definitely return just because they all made us feel so welcomed. The chocolate cake is MASSIVE. The bruschetta is the best. Portions are very big and great for sharing. 10/10

Food is delicious. I got the cheese pizza and garlic bread. Our server Nat was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable he even showed us a book with the history of Norwich and gave us great recommendations. He suggested the cheesy bread really great service and atmosphere.

Nate is the best! This place is a gem. The aroma of fresh baking pizza. Watching food prep from the open concept kitchen. The atmosphere is charming and the staff are excellent. Their food is fantastic and their prices make it worth the trip from anywhere. If you’re close by, at least stop in and have a pizza. You won’t regret it. Can’t wait to go back.

This restaurant is in a beautiful building. The food is authentic Italian and large portions. My favorite is the Seafood Fra Diavolo, my husband loves the spaghetti and meatballs/ sausage. We always have leftovers to enjoy the next day! We always experience friendly service and attention to detail. Ashley & Kailyn are my favorite servers. Really nice place and tasty food! First time trying this and we got a cheese pizza, eggplant grinder, chocolate cake and a pistachio cannoli. Great prices and huge food! Definitely returning, very tasty and unique, the flower used in the pizza was delicious and the cheese and the sauce for spot on! Are server Nate was awesome, and the desserts were unbelievable! Great value for the tons of food we got! Can’t wait to come back!

This was our 2nd time to La Stella’s. We were visiting family in Norwich today and the hour and a half drive kept me focused on ordering the pistachio Ravioli that I couldn’t wait to eat again!
I absolutely LOVE the restaurant space and being a teacher, especially love that it was the town’s former library; no wonder it has such a great atmosphere!
Just as with our first time, we were greeted and so delightfully served , today by Nathan, who was attentive to members of our family, answered our questions, and provided us with recommendations for food and drink, which delivered beyond our expectations! We were never rushed and it was like being home, except being served!❤️ Beside the pistachio ravioli, I also ordered the amazing pizza with fig jam, caramelized onions, goat cheese and pancetta. What an amazing combo, that I highly recommend! Each of us got The house salad with a different house made dressing that was outstanding! My favorite… creamy garlic! although we were full, when Nathan told us about the Cannoli’s which we couldn’t resist ordering the pistachio and the limoncello- each different and delectable in their own right.
We look forward to returning to La Stella’s with a big appetite ( to accommodate La Stella’s generous portions.)and continued desire to try something new and delicious! I La Stella’s is a uniquely delicious restaurant with a great atmosphere, authentically delicious Italian food and outstanding service. Take a step back in time when you walk into La Stella, Norwich’s premier Italian restaurant located in a grand and stately landmark building, the original 1850’s Otis Library, directly across from the iconic Norwich City Hall on Union Square. The original building was gifted to the City by Joseph Otis a member of Norwich’s bygone merchant class back in the city’s heyday. Five stars for service, ambiance and quality.
La Stella takes you back in time to when service and quality really mattered. Their expansive menu covers all the bases from pizza and salad to all of the classic authentic Italian dishes you know and love. The interior of the building was recently refreshed with a stylish look that beautifully incorporates both old and new. There is a bar near the entrance with adjacent marble tables and there is also a larger open dining space where you can watch your meal being expertly prepared by the kitchen staff.
The oversized windows look out on the timeless streetscape of City Hall and the nearby United Congregational Church as well as the street-side balcony for al fresco dining nestled along the East side of the building on Broadway. Inside, the background music of Frank Sinatra is the perfect complement to your night out. You’ll have to remind yourself that you’re not in New York’s Little Italy or Providence as you take all of this in.
On the midweek night we visited, our server par excellence was Kelly, who went above and beyond with helpful suggestions and ensured everything was expertly presented along with helping package our leftovers from the generous portions of our dinners. The staff was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing or intrusive. The manager was on hand and briefly checked in to ensure everything was up to our expectations.
