My family and I stopped here for lunch today. This is a Chinese buffet, which we eat at often, so our expectations were reasonable and realistic. We understand buffet food isn’t meant to be gourmet, and normally we don’t mind minor shortcomings. Unfortunately, this experience went far beyond that.
At first glance, nothing seemed alarming. Payment was required before eating, which is standard for many buffets. The dining chairs had clean covers, and the initial walk past the food didn’t immediately raise red flags. However, once seated and eating, the issues became impossible to ignore.
Much of the food had clearly been sitting out far too long. Nearly all of the chicken dishes were hard, slightly chewy, and tasted old. The shrimp was so overcooked and mushy that it couldn’t even be peeled. The noodles were thin, rubbery, and completely flavorless. The rice tasted old but was one of the few items that was at least edible.
The hibachi station was especially concerning. The meat had a slimy coating and an off smell, while the vegetables appeared wilted and aged. There was no rice available in this area—only oddly textured noodles. The fruit selection also appeared old. A couple of items were tolerable, and surprisingly, the desserts were the best part of the meal.
The bathrooms, located down a hallway behind a door, were extremely unpleasant. Upon opening the door, a strong, nauseating odor was overwhelming. The entire area appeared neglected and unclean, which is deeply concerning for a food establishment.
The staff were polite and attentive, regularly clearing plates and refilling drinks, which I do want to acknowledge. However, friendly service cannot make up for poor food quality and unsanitary conditions.
This restaurant offers limited options, and the food that is offered appears old and poorly maintained. The condition of the facility raises serious concerns for customer health and safety. I hope this review helps others avoid a disappointing and uncomfortable experience, as well as a complete waste of money.
Dining out is about more than just the food; it’s also about the atmosphere and service. Being asked to pay before even seeing a menu or getting a table made it feel like they didn’t trust their customers. It completely ruined the experience for me.
Unfortunately, this policy is enough to make me not want to return. There are plenty of other great Chinese restaurants that treat guests with more hospitality.
Food was “OK”
Hibachi meat had a white color goo on it. STRANGE.
Still mad at getting charged before I sat down,
Im not at flight risk! I don’t dine & dash.
* The boiled shrimp when you peeled them just turned to mush from being over cooked.
* Lo mein was just spaghetti noodles with raw onion and two shreds of carrot with no flavor.
**Our waitress was very sweet.
