Reviews
As an out of town chef, this is my one non-negotiable stop every time I visit ATL. Every detail feels intentional from the moment you walk through the doors. The carefully curated design, the energy/ ambience of the space, and the warmth of the service are all such a breath of fresh air. It’s hands down one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve ever had.
The food is exceptional. Every dish is thoughtful, innovative, and beautifully executed. You could order anything blindfolded and love your choice. My table shared the yuca con queso, croquetas, carnitas tostadas blistered carrots, mantequila beans (insane), fried mushrooms, chochoyotes (out of this world), cubarrito (soo good), and the frituras de calabaza (a must, left us speechless!)
And to drink we had the mole fashioned, bat country, cusco’s groove and the wheel with dessert.
You can feel the love and passion of the owners, Sophia and Reid, in every aspect from the ingredient sourcing and food presentation, to the way the staff and guests are cared for. I could go on and on. Make this reservation. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience you’ll remember forever.
I’m only in Atlanta for a short time, and I’ve actually had to extend my fast because almost everywhere else was serving Beyond Meat or soy chunks ♂️. La Semilla was the one spot I found with clean, whole-food vegan options.
I ordered the ropa vieja empanadas, shrooms & grits, and the frituras. At first, I thought the prices were on the higher side, but after tasting the food, it felt completely worth it. Everything was clean, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection.
On top of that, the atmosphere and service were spectacular. The only downside? They’re closed on Mondays, and I leave early Tuesday morning. But one thing’s for sure: the next time I come through Atlanta, I’ll be back.
For my entree I ordered the seared lions mane with mashed yuca. It was an interesting dish. The lions mane didn’t have much flavor after 2-3 bites lol. The mashed yuca was yummy, but it only came with about 3 spoon fulls.
I wish they would have gave me more yuca lol. Only downside … it wasn’t much food for the price. I was still hungry after I left. Presentation was great!
Overall I had a good experience. They validate parking for up to two hours. I recommend making a reservation due to limited seating.
We tried:
yuca w queso
croquettes
crunchwrap
mushroom steak
We asked for extra sauce and found out we were charged $2.50 per sauce and it was about a tablespoon amount for reference.
Thankfully upon inquiry, it was abruptly removed.
The additional shot for their christmas cocktail was also $2 more than the cocktail itself so if you care about things like this, feel free to gain clarification before purchasing.
